* * * Melissa lay comfortably on her friend Amy’s large couch, covered with a fleece throw. The lights were dimmed. A rose quartz lamp glowed softly in the corner. “First we’ll clear your chakras, the seven main energy gateways of the body,” said Amy, her voice low and melodious. “Follow my voice and visualise the colours with me.” Melissa happily complied. This was one of her favourite parts of meditation. “Now that you’re relaxed, we’ll begin your journey.” Her tone was gently soothing.
