I couldn't see his face well since it was pretty dark last night but wait I've seen this guy somewhere before......
Wait I remember him!
Nia's POV :
I had a feeling that I knew this man somewhere but I couldn't pinpoint where. I was lost in my thoughts when the stranger spoke, his voice deep and warm. "Good morning", he said smiling so warm that even the heater felt insecure. " Hope you don't mind, I wanted to thank you for helping me yesterday by making you breakfast. I promise it's edible" he added still having that smile on. "I...um..you...I... thank...you" . I couldn't understand why I was starmaring, maybe because he was handsome or was it his voice? I couldn't tell. The stranger chuckled, a soft one , then placed the pancakes on a plate where he later placed on the small round table I kept in my kitchen where I mostly ate. The stranger looked up, a small smile on his lips " please sit" he said pointing to the chair. I don't know why but I sat without asking questions. " I'm Zay" He said, "Zay" I mentioned his name is if testing how it would feel on my lips. " Thank you for helping me last night. I just got beaten up by some thugs. I didn't mean to be a bother"Zay said looking down at the pancakes as if there were invencible ghosts on them. I finally spoke up, confidence returning back into my tone, "no need to thank me. I did what anyone would have done..." "No", Zay interrupted "Not everyone will see a stranger bleeding on the streets during the night and pay attention to them how much more take them home. I owe you one". I blushed "You're welcome, I guess". After the breakfast, Zay insisted on washing the dishes despite his injury still not fully healed (though a bit better).
After washing the dishes, Zay wore his old clothes which was still stained with dried blood. "Let me wash that for you" I offered. He smiled "Don't worry I can manage." Silence. Then he spoke again "I'll be heading back home now", that's when I remembered that he wasn't actually living here and had to eventually go home, but why was I kinda upset about it, like I didn't want him to leave? Why do I feel like I know this man somewhere? "But your wound..." That's all I managed to bring out before he interrupted " Don't worry about it, I even feel much better now, thanks. I'll be taking my leave now" he smiled then walked out of the door , but didn't fail to give me a small smile before closing it and somehow that smile made me feel strange butterflies.
Finally, alone at ones. I didn't like it. Usually I'd be hanging out with Anna during the weekend but unfortunately she's busy with family. I sighed. Apart from Henry and my Aunt I didn't have any family left. My parents? They died in a car accident when I was seven, I was supposed to die too but surprisingly I survived. I don't remember much from that day but my Aunt , Miss Clara, keeps telling me that my parents protected me and always will. I still don't understand what she ment , not today and not then. While I was lost in thought the door bell rung. I almost cursed under my breath because I had just gotten comfortable in the couch and now I must get up. How wish then that I had telekinesis and just open that door without moving an inch. Ring Ring."I'm coming!" I shot back at whoever was ringing my door bell and stop up agonizingly to open the door ready to scream at whoever was at the door but froze when I saw "Henry?" ."Hey shorty" he said with a grin and I couldn't help but roll my eyes. He was only an inch taller than me but acted as if he was the reincanted version of a Nephilim. "What are you doing here?" I asked with an eyebrow raised. Henry gashed in as if he was the landlord of my apartment coming for rent payment after not receiving it for a long period. He sat on the couch like he literally owned it, " I'm taking you out" I almost choked on air "me?" ,"Did I stutter" , I rolled my eyes again."geez from rolling your eyes like that I would have thought you'd find your brain already" "You....." "Anyways.." he interrupted before I could continue my sentence " Go change, I'll be waiting for you" "What's wrong with this dress?", I said looking at my white plain t-shirt and blue jeans with brown slippers. "You look like a retired nanny" Henry shot back an answer, I frowned not because of what he said but because I wandered if Zay had thought the same thing. Wait! Why am I thinking about that stranger again!? "Earth to Nia" Henry said snapping me back to reality "The time ain't going to freeze itself for you to get ready" . "Fine" I answered before going back to my room to change wearing a red top with red jeans. Henry stared at me for a long time. "What?" I asked feeling a bit insecure. Henry smiled "nothing, you just look like the assistant of Cupid." He said getting up. " Let's go".
After hours of hanging out with Henry I remembered how fun going out with him was like. He was funny, chill and had a great sense of humor. " Next stop. The clothes shop" Henry said as he parked his car at the parking lot of a mall. "Why?" I asked as we got down. "Because you entire closet looks like it was borrowed from an old retired nanny with nine cats". "Oh please, it can't be that bad" Henry just shook his head but didn't reply. " By the way when we get inside buy real clothes, but not, I'm going to babysit a two year old clothes" Henry said breaking the silence as we got closer to the mall. Just then I bumped into an old woman and quickly held her before she could fall "I'm soo sorry, I wasn't looking" I quickly apologized. " Oh don't worry my...." The old woman quickly comforted before looking up at me and freezing like she saw a ghost. "You...you... you're... you're... you're... Marked!"......
