Hunter felt like he’d been hit by a truck. It had taken about ten minutes for someone to find him on the path. Thankfully, it had been Jaime and Clara, with Mable and Clyde coming down after them. Humiliation hit him again, something it had been doing on and off all day. He hated that he couldn’t get up. Hated that he’d then been taken to the hospital, where they’d poked him and pushed him and made him do things that made his hip and knee throb no matter how much ice he put on it and how much painkiller he took.
