Trash or Dash: Layla's POV

1246 Words
As I was stood in front of the mirror, staring at my reflection, I could barely recognize myself. The makeup artist was done fixing my makeup as I admired myself. I couldn’t believe I was finally getting married to Bastian after years of being in a relationship with him. At some point, I was worried that no one was going to turn up for the wedding but I was pleasantly surprised to see quite a crowd. Somehow Bastian convinced his secretary to be my maid of honor as Rachel wouldn't, and I had no friends. I thought Bastian's secretary was going to be mean to me but she had been really helpful ever since I started planning this wedding, and I was glad that I was not going to get married without a maid of honor. That would have been truly embarrassing. My father-in-law was to walk me down the aisle. My uncle told me he would rather jump off a cliff than to see me get married to Alpha Bastian. He had tried to destroy me so many times, treating me badly, and even beating me up just so that I can say no to the engagement. I can't wait to leave their house, and live happily with Bastian. I know he must be excited we were finally getting married, and will soon have a family of our own; something I didn't have growing up. The nervous feeling came back. I knew it wasn’t wedding jitters. Although Bastian has been treating me right, I couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was bothering him, especially after he met that Alpha. I can't seem to explain it, but his presence bothered Bastian a lot. When I had asked him about it, he brushed it off, stating that it was just Alpha rivalry. I knew he was withholding some things from me, but maybe after we tie the knot, he would be more open with me. These past few days though, I have been seeing Alpha Aaron's face a lot , and that scared me. I had never dreamed about another man before, not once in my entire life. Yet now, just a misunderstanding with Alpha Aaron has me dreaming about him, imagining his handsome face and his oh-so beautiful physique. This was new for me. If Bastian could read my thoughts, I'm sure he would cancel this wedding and throw me out. I couldn't afford that. He was the only one I had. Without him, I was basically a nobody which was why I was trying so hard to make it work. I was madly in love with Bastian, no doubt, and I knew he felt the same way about me. He was the one who helped me get rid of all the voices in my head telling me that it wouldn't work out between us. He was the one who stood by my side when everyone else believed that he would leave me. Every single day of my life, I fall in love with him all over again and I know it wasn't going to change. I am grateful to the moon goddess for sending him my way. If his driver didn't try to run me over on that rainy day, I don't think I would have met him. Even though he was the Alpha of the Pack, it wasn't easy to actually see him. That was the beginning of our love story. Taking a deep breath, I straightened my wedding gown as I gazed out the window. The moon was beginning to appear. I gulped in nervousness as I stepped out the door to see Bastian's father waiting for me. He smiled at me as I took his hand, walking down the aisle. Even though I was getting married, I was sad that there was no one representing me. No family, nothing. I saw my uncle but he didn't look too happy. He kept scowling at me. What was even more surprising was the fact that Bastian was not waiting for me at the end of the aisle. He wasn't even present, only his Beta was, and there with an uneasy look on his face too. I almost stumbled as paused for a second before resuming my steps. What was going on? Where was my fiancé? "Uncle, where is Bastian?” I asked the man, voicing out my concern when we reached in front of the podium but he just smirked before walking away. Why wasn't he here yet? He should have arrived before me. What was going on? Everyone was beginning to murmur. Some of the wolves present were even laughing. I was left feeling embarrassed when the door was suddenly opened and Bastian walked in with Rachel, holding onto her so tightly, and extremely intimate. My cousin had a smug look on her face as they walked closer to me. I took a step towards them, fear gripping me as I stared at the man who was supposed to be my husband. "Bastian, what's going on? Why are you with her? You are getting married to me, so what are you doing with my cousin?" I asked, agitated. I couldn't fathom what was going on. My heart was beginning to pound loudly, my pulse erratic. Was I in a dream or something? Bastian rolled his eyes, and walked past me, grabbing the microphone from his Beta. "I know all of you came here, speculating to witness the wedding of myself and Layla Lawson. Too bad for her though, she isn't the one I am getting married to." Turning to me, Bastian continued. "I can say Layla, it has been torture playing a little romance with you,” he scoffed. The disgust in his tone couldn’t be hidden. I must be in a sick dream. This couldn't be real. My mind was messed up. I felt as if I was doused with a bucket of cold, extremely chilly water. There was no way this was happening right now. There had to be a prank. Bastian was just playing with me. He can't be serious. I held his hand gently, trying to talk to him to understand what went wrong. "Babe, you are pulling my legs, right? Please Bastian, I love you. I can't even imagine a life without you. Don't do this to me. You can marry both of us, I don't mind. But please, just don't abandon me. Don't humiliate me this way. You promised me we will be together forever. You promised me that you love me, you even swore it," I pleaded with tears already streaming down my face. I know at this point some of my makeup had started running down my face, I knew I must have looked hideous but I just couldn't care at the moment. Bastian pushed me away roughly, and I fell. He scowled at me. It was the final straw. I stood up immediately, not being able to withstand the laughter and scornful looks around. "I guess I should give you a head start because if I catch up to you, Layla,” I heard him say. “I am going to kill you myself.” I stepped back from him still dazed but I didn't need to be told twice as I ran as far away as I could from the wedding hall. The weight of Sebastian’s threat was sounded heavily in my head as I ran. That wasn't the fiancé I knew.
