Lydia POV The estate feels smaller every day. Not physically. The house is enormous. Too many rooms, too many corridors, too many quiet corners where security cameras blink softly from the walls. But the air feels tighter. Like the walls themselves are listening. Ever since the drone incident, Adrian has turned this place into something between a fortress and a command center. Guards patrol the gardens day and night. Vehicles rotate at the gates every few hours. Even the sky above the estate feels watched now. I understand why. But understanding something doesn’t always make it easier to live with. The television in the breakfast room murmurs while I push food around my plate without really eating. Financial analysts again. They’ve been talking about Adrian for three straight day
