Cosmic Chaos!

Beep, beep.

The afternoon of that day was approaching quicker than I thought. I was quite happy with myself and I was feeling once again as a teenager. Those good days that I didn't even have to worry about anything. Those days in which I would mostly have fun and have faith in people. I was always the person who had a lot of faith into people, but as years had passed, in my reality, I was losing it all. One beautiful gift that this new reality gave to me, was faith. Because I had met some great people, some people whom in my reality meant nothing to me, I didn't even know that they existed or had a life. But now I really wanted this people to be part of my reality, and no matter what would happen next, I would love to have those people by my side in all my journeys. I still hadn't forgotten the people from the reality I was coming, they were also quite important to me in some way.

As I was getting ready, Nick called me to tell that his father was not going to be at my birthday party. And some thoughts hit my head. Why isn't he coming? Is he mad? Has he discovered something that would change completely my life and Nick's life too? Does he know something that may influence all of our lives? Or maybe he is not the type of the person who celebrates things. I was quite confused by the behavior of the professor. Something felt really off about him recently. Also it felt that something was off in general about it. Nick told me not to worry about anything, that the professor is always busy like this, but my senses told me that something was quite off and a problem would come up in some way. I mean who does not think that way when everything for quite a while has been going in a perfect way. There is always a catch behind this. A bad event approaching or something like this. Maybe I was a lucky person in this new reality. But something really told me that day that something would be really off and a bad news would come on our way.

I was almost ready and waiting for Nick and Luis to come to take me to the coffee shop. They told me that they would be a little late as they were still working on making the surprise party the best event ever. And I was there, well dressed and with many thoughts on my head. But the day had been going perfectly so why should I worry more. I mean, I had to enjoy the night. When they arrived they were quite well dressed. Both of the boys were dresses in a man in black fashion, bot combined with each other in their way of dressing. I had dressed a beautiful white dress so when I approached them both, we looked as a combination of Ying and Yang. The good and the bad.

I was quite curious to know what they had planned so I was trying to ask the boys if they could tell me something.

-"So, did you finish all the organizing of the place and everything? What did took you so long to finish?"

-"Well, we had to bring some other things and me and Luis were a little late. They had most of the things finished but we wanted to add some things.."

-"What things did you bring that took you so long?"

-"If you are trying to get something out of us, It won't work.."-said Nick with a smile on his face.

-"No, no, I was just a little curious, it has to be something big and great, that it took you so long.."

-"You are going to see, but right now, we won't tell you what you are looking forward to get from us."

-"Nick. I was just asking. That is all."-said I trying to cover my curiosity with a quick lie.

-"Yeah, for sure, I know you were just asking.."-replied Nick with a smile on his face.

-"I guess you meet Joshua and Jessica, what do you think about them?"

-"They were both great people, we got to stay with Joshua a little more than with Jessica, she had work at that moment, so Joshua was the one helping us. That guy is funny boy, he socializes great with people. He had that great vibe, we could be great friend with him. He had a great sense of humor. I see what have you been telling us about them. Joshua was exactly what you had told us that he would be."-said Nick.

-"Well, they call me the man of humor and sarcasm, but I see I got some competition with Joshua. He was a great guy, as much as we talked to him about general things, he was quite positive though. He had taken everything easy in life and he was so positive. He had also great humor and time passed quickly with him. That guy in my opinion, with as much as I got to know him for a few hours, is a great person."-added Luis.

-"I am quite happy that you have found those people. You are definitely lucky on making great friends in this reality. As for Jessica, she seemed so hard-working. I mean, Joshua was also hard-working, but Jessica, as much as we saw her there, was working quite a lot and she was so positive with her clients."-added Nick too.

-"I am so happy that you think this way about them. They are my closest people in this reality, they helped me a lot when I got here...Anyways, what did you think about my work place?"

-"Oo, yeah, about the coffee shop, that gave me a vintage vibe, like I could see the designation of everything there. Quite vintage to be honest. It gave me a vibe of the 70s. The colors, the accessories and everything. I would possibly be coming there maybe once a week to spend some time, due to the fact I am a little far from there. But definitely that place was quite good. Just for curiosity, the clients there are mostly on daily basis right? So are they usual clients there.."-said Luis.

-"You got a point there. We know most of our daily clients and we know also what their order is going to be. So most of the time, the clients there are people from the neighborhood whom close to the shop, or people who work nearby or friends of them. So most of the time they are familiar faces to us. We rarely see new people there and if those new people like it, they also become daily costumers too. It is always dependable though, but we rarely have problems with the clients or the orders. It is quite good and helpful for us.."

-"It could be a little bigger though. You had so many clients there and I could see that in the busiest days, that coffee shop would be so full. But it was quite a family place and a warm one. It is a great working place. All were friends with each other and no screaming or problems at all. But it has to be a little bigger or maybe you can add some more tables or redesign it a little. But the style was quite good, that should not be changed at all."-said Nick.

We talked a while about their short experience there before we arrived. As we arrived, they told me to cover up my eyes, as they wanted to surprise me, while I was entering the coffee shop.

-"Are you ready?"-asked Nick as he remover the cover from my eyes.

I heard everyone screaming "Happy Birthday". My friends and some of coworkers were there too. And that place was so beautiful that day. It had a giant poster, written in it; "Happy Birthday Martha". Everywhere were roses and balloons with a red color. The lighting of the place was so perfect too. And they had already prepared a tables for people to sit and eat something while celebrating. They also hired a DJ for the night so we could have some music to dance. There was also a table for us 5 to stay together and talk. Everyone approached me as I entered and wished me a happy birthday. There were around 15 people more besides us 5. So it was mostly my coworkers as the manager told them to take the afternoon off to prepare for the birthday. My manager was quite a good person, he was no there for a moment, but I assume they also paid some money to reserve all the place. As much as he is a good person, business is business. All were hugging me and all of them seemed enthusiastic about my birthday. There was also a place for gifts there, and to my surprise, tons of gifts were placed there. I couldn't feel anymore special that day. I was trying to hold my tears, but I was getting so emotional about it, so I wasn't able to control them a lot. After I entered we all sat to our seats for a while. I was out of my words for a while and someone really needed to get me back to the reality.

-"So Martha, what do you think?"-asked Joshua.

-"I am so thankful to you guys. When I first ended up in this reality, I would have never thought that a few months later, I would feel so well, comfortable and loved. And all the credit goes to you. I am out of words for the moment. You have tried so hard to make everything look perfect for me. You have also helped me a lot through this new journey and experience. I know today is my birthday, but this is a celebration for all of us. Celebration of our friendship. Celebration for the great people I have met. This is going to be an appreciation day for all the things you have done for me. I could not ask for me today. Nor any day of this reality. I think here I have found a new family, that is going to be with me always, no matter what tomorrow has in closet for me. Once again, I am out of words, I love you guys.."

-"I am not crying, you are crying.."-said Joshua while he was crying and actually it was the first time I had seen Joshua crying. He gets emotional but rarely does he cries about it.

-"We are so thankful too. Time brought you here, to light up our lives. And you are a great person too. If it wasn't for the person whom you are, we may not have been friends together. So we are happy to be celebrating here with you."-said Nick as he hugged me.

-"Okay, lets wipe our tears away. DJ, turn up the music.."-said Joshua as he stood up and started dancing.

The atmosphere became better and better. All the people dancing, celebrating, forgetting about their daily problems, but just being there and having fun. It was quite funny. Joshua and Luis were doing a dance competition at some point. They were both great dancers and I think they had already became rivals with each other. While me and Nick had been dancing together all the time. Nick told me at first that he wasn't a good dancer at all, but I could see that he was trying to get along with all the other people. He was trying here, I got to say. At some point me and Nick decided to sit down and enjoy a little time together. He put his arm around me and we just sat there while the rest were dancing.

-"Look at all of them, they are having so much fun. See Martha, if you would not have been here, all these people lives would have been totally different today. Mine, too. So happy birthday babe."-said Nick.

-"Time-travelling is good and bad at the same time. But I never thought it would be this good."-I replied.

-"You are not only a time-traveller no more. You matter to this people, so right now, you are part of this reality."

"Why are you sitting down, you two beautiful birds in love, come dance.."-said Luis, as he came to stay with us.

-"We are taking a little break. By the way, how was work today? Did you fix the device?"-asked I.

-"Not at all. It was a little bit weird to be honest. It has never beeped that way. We tried to get as much data and information that we could, but it was overloaded, so we couldn't get much out of it. It has problems in processing the information that it is receiving. I tried to find an alternative way to fix, but it didn't work. We left it open to keep on working. And we added an alarm next to it, in order if it does some weird activity. So at the moment we receive a strange behavior from the device we would be able to know. And I think, the professor has to be at the office right now next to it, so he could inform us about all. I don't think it is something we need to worry about today. But if it keeps working that way and we don't find a solution, we need to turn it off and fix the problem. In my opinion it is a technical problem, nothing more that that. But we will soon know if it is that or something else."-replied Luis.

-"But it is getting on my nerves, and you know why, because I couldn't concentrate all the time the device was beeping. You should definitely need to change the noise it produces. I still hear it on my brain"-said Nick.

-"What are you talking about guys, can we join or it is something private.."-said Joshua while he and Jessica were approaching us.

-"Not much, work stuff. We have had a technical problem today, nothing to worry about at all."-replied Nick calmly.

-"So Martha, tell us, what is the future is going to be like? I have so much to ask you about it."-said Luis.

-"Okay lets play a game. You all have to ask two questions about the future and I will reply in short details. I won't tell you a lot about it. Only two questions. Decide wisely."

-"I am going to start first. Please I have to ask this. Is there going to be Donald Trump the president in 2021 or is there going to be a new president?"-asked Joshua.

-"I don't know how to tell you this. But in short words, no. Trump will not win it. I won't tell you who becomes president though. But you will see when time comes."

-"Interesting, Trump loses. I guess it has to be Bernie who wins or I don't know."

-"Bernie becomes a meme though in the future. It is so funny actually that he becomes so viral."

-"No way he does, what that guy did wrong to become a meme?"-replied Joshua in surprise.

-"Is this your final question?"

-"No no. I have something else I need to ask you. I have so many questions but I will ask you this one. Who is going to be the richest person in the entire world in the future? Will it still be Bill Gates?"

-"It is going to be an ongoing war between two people. But Bill Gates will no longer be the richest man, neither will he be in the debate of who is the richest."

-"Wow, the future will be totally different. Wow. Okay I am done. I needed to know these things, I am quite in a debate with some of my friends about politics and economy, so now I will be confident enough to debate and take the side I want to."

-"Okay, my turn now."-said Luis,-"What is the technology in the future like? Are there flying cars or does the technology becomes more improved?"

-"The technology definitely goes to a new entire level. There are not going to be flying cars, but there are going to be some cars that can drive for you while you may be sleeping or things like that. The phones will improve a lot, the computers too. I mean it is going to be much better technology in the future that is right now. Not big difference, not crazy ideas, but it would still improve a lot."

-"Interesting. Last question. I have invested in Bitcoin. Is it a good investment to hold on to or it is going to fail in the future and be scam. I have bought it quite a few years ago and the price is rising, but I mean will it make me richer or poorer?"

-"As much as know from the news in the future, you will be richer. So it is a good investment for you."

-"Rich? How rich? Tell me?"

-"It depends on how much bitcoin you own."

-"I own around 10, will it make me richer than I am now?"

-"Yeah, you will be rich if you will know how to manage them. So I advise you to keep them."

-"I am rich in the future, I am rich in the future. I am a master on investing."-said Luis, while dancing in a strange way out of happiness.

-"Jessica go on, ask her, I would like to be the last one."-said Nick.

-"What is the fashion is going to look like in the future. Will it be a weird fashion or it will become more amazing that it is now."

-"Erm, good question. I can say there would not be lots of differences between now and then. The fashion shows become weirder by the way. So weird with their crazy designs. But when it comes to normal people, I mean it will improve in quality and designs, but there is not going to be much difference in the way we dress."

-"Okay, good to know that. Now my second question is, who is going to be the most followed person on i********: in the future. Now I think, Selena Gomez is the most followed. So who is it going to be the most influential person on i********:, I am really curious to know?"

-"It is not going to be Selena no more. Kylie Jenner will become more famous, Kim Kardashian too. But the most followed one, as much as I remember, I think it will be Cristiano Ronaldo, the footballer. I am quite sure he is the number one on Instagram."

-"No way Cristiano Ronaldo becomes the most followed person on the i********:, how is that possible, he is just a football player?"-said Joshua as he jumped out off his seat.

-"Well, he does. I guess they love him for his talent or his look. For both mostly."

-"Interesting, I was hoping Selena to be the number one as I am a big fan of her. But I guess Cristiano gets more famous. I guess I am done with my questions. Nick, you can go on."-said Jessica while still being surprised.

-"Okay my turn, I do not have much questions to be honest. Or I have some questions if I think you would not be able to give an answer as they are so detailed for the future. Okay, here I go. Are we going to be able to travel to the Moon or somewhere in the universe by 2021? Will it be possible?"

-"No, as much as I know, no one would step in Moon even by 2021. The technology improves a lot, there are going to be so many project about traveling in the universe, but as much as I know, no one has stepped somewhere else besides Earth in the future. Although there will be some great projects."

-"Sad. I have always thought that the future will take us somewhere in the universe. I am so quite disappointed to know this. I had better not asked about it. Anyways, my other question, will the people get poorer or richer in the future? For example, Is the economy getting better and the world become a better and nicer place?"

-"You made like 3-4 questions at the same time. But I will be nice and say something really short. For a short period of time, we all go through some problems. So there are going to be some events that for a while will hit the economy. It depends though, but nothing changes much until 2020, we even have a better economy until that year. That is the year where most of the problems start, we all have been through that. And it was hard. And I don't want to be here when 2020 comes. It was one of my hardest years psychologically to go through it. There will so much going around the world on that year, that emotionally will create much confusion. But things get better, at least for most of us. Until the asteroid approaches you know, there is something we never knew."

-"Quite interesting, I guess I can't wait for that time to come, to see what is going to happen."

-"I am happy you are excited right now, you will need that excitement when the time comes."-I replied while having a sarcastic smile on my face.

-"But we first need to take care of each other and hope that we do something about the asteroid. If we are able to fix that problem, a greater future will be in front of us after that. Until then, let us raise a toast, a toast for a better future, of us being healthy and alive, and for us being together at this exact moment."-Nick said while standing up.

-"Exactly my friends, lets all stand up and appreciate the moment we are living right now. I personally couldn't be much happier today getting to know you both, Luis and Nick, have the girl of my dreams next to me, and to celebrate the birthday of our great friend Martha. I wish for all of us to be happier and safer. As long as in the future we are healthy and happy, there is nothing we should be stressed about. So my friends, this one is for you."-replied Joshua as we rose that toast for our new friendship and for the better days to come.

Once again, we started dancing and the night was perfect. We thought that we would end that night in the same exact way we started it and in the same it had been all the time. But never would have we thought, that this night would turn into the day we had all been waiting for.

The moment of the birthday cake came and I got to say, I was already white on my face with cake cream. The guts were making fun of me and we were so happy. Also the cake tasted delicious. At that moment we also started opening the gifts and all the people were telling their story behind that gift. When Luis's time came, he was not there. We all got confused. Luis was nowhere to be seen. He was there like two seconds ago. We all were there, at that beautiful moment, but we didn't know where Luis was. We got worried and every time we called him, the phone was already busy. We all 4 went outside to see if he was there and as we got there we saw that Luis was talking in the phone with someone. He was so concentrated and his face was not quite happy. We all thought that he received a bad news from his family or something like that. After he finished the call, he actually did not say much about the phone call. He had to leave. He hugged me and wished me a happy birthday, but he had a problem that he needed to leave. And he told us that he will let us know if everything gets better. So Luis wanted us to continue celebrating as he had to leave.

After that, we all tried to get that moment out of our heads, in order for us to enjoy the rest of the night. And we almost forgot it until another phone rang. This time it was Nick's phone. So me and Nick went outside to see what was going on. It was Luis. He told Nick that the device had been beeping and making a big noise that night, as he had already arrived in the office and met with the professor.

-"Nick, I received an alarm on my phone about some weird noises. It was the device going crazy and beeping all the time. Your father went to check and saw that the device was printing lots of information and it just could not stop. It just keeps beeping and beeping. We are here right now, and we are getting lots of information from the device. And we have to worry about one thing. Due to the recent calculations, the percentage of the asteroid hitting Earth has already going up with 5% after every print. I don't know if there is something wrong with my device, but this is something we need to worry. This is the thing we had been waiting for. Please come here, we need you here right now."-said Luis as he closed the phone call.

I was in shock. Nick was too. We both froze at one moment. Not much to stay, at least right now. We had been waiting for this moment for so long. And we finally could know what was going to happen. Nick told me to stay here, but I could not. I could not just sit there and wait for any news. I just had to go there with him. I needed to know. This was as important for me as it was for them. We debated for a while until Nick decided to take me with him. We told Joshua and Jessica about it, and they also wanted to come too. But in the end they decided to stay there and fix everything that needed to be done at the end of the party.

As we were about to leave, we once again received a phone call. It was Luis again. And what was he about to say next, would be one of the most important things at least for our future. I would have never guessed that on my 16th birthday, back in my reality, there was something bigger going on into the world. At that time I would have never thought. But right now, on my 16th birthday once again, things would be totally different.

-"Nick, I hope you are close to coming here. The device can't stop beeping and making that weird noice. But as much as me and the professor know, there is nothing wrong with the device. We checked some of the informations and you will be so shocked when you come here. We need you here. This is getting so real. That asteroid will hit Earth. My device has already confirmed it. Man, something crazy is happening in the universe. I need you here. I am shocked."

-"We will be there in 5 minutes."-replied Nick as he closed the phone.

Those 5 minutes were all complete silence. Something serious was going around the universe, that we were not prepared to deal with. Something weird, something strange. That device that had been beeping all day long, was trying to warn us. Warn us that something crazy is going on. And we were all in danger once again. In those five minutes, so many things were going on inside my head. But mostly it was the noice of Luis's device. My heart was beating faster and faster. I had waited for that moment for a long time. Since I ended up in this universe, I had waited for that moment for so long.

As we arrived into the office, we both took a deep breath and looked each other into the eyes. There were no words left to say, we understood each other just by that look. Because the look on our faces told it all. The fear and the excitement. The adrenaline levels on our blood going up. Our hearts beating so fast. We were about to find out what would later on, be one of the most life-changing moments for the entire universe. And to remember, that this whole thing would just start from a small device, with a weird noice, beeping all the time. I guess that beeping was bigger than we would have ever thought.
