Breached

The band around her lungs released, though the tainted, dark feeling in her remained black as the night. She felt naive and stupid as gradually she could sense the deceit and how she was played by Zayn Ryder. An unfamiliar ache began in her chest, as gradually it radiated all over her body in deep fear and anxiety. All her mother's warnings raced through her mind, she had broken each one of these rules and had led the Werewolves through the secret gates. What would everyone think of her? Celeste's own naive daughter, she could help herself as she broke down crying… Her sobs were heavy, but it did nothing to drown her sins, and this sick feeling that was racing through her mind. Aerona's heart hurt, but she didn't have a term for this feeling, as it was new to her. Could it be betrayal? Could it be the fact that Zayn had covered himself in so much facade that she had missed each one of it? Still, she couldn't bring herself to hate this man, no matter how badly she thought about him at that moment. Unease danced beneath her skin to a foreboding tune. For a minute, she thought about going out to join the witches, but her mother's warning was still stuck in her head. She ran a hand through her hair, glancing out of the window in desperation, her gaze followed the burning torches that had taken over the surrounding and the woods in front of her. A tickle played in her awareness when she heard a deep howl that looked very close by, as she could feel her heart going slower than normal. She watched as the witches tried to hold on to the protective shell that was emitted round the castle as the Werewolves tried to breach past them. Her mother's voice filled the yard. “Stand still!” The ball was becoming weaker and weaker as more of the witches grew weary. They knew that they couldn't stand down now, if the protective wall gets breached, that was the definite end. Shouts broke out. Stand still, stand still, over and over again, more like a scream mixed with a myriad of voices. As a lungful of air escaped Aerona's lungs, she felt a wave of energy radiate the entirety of the castle as it shook from its foundation. Glass shattered in an unmistakable pattern as her heartbeat drummed in her, she could feel her head spinning and reaching for the side of her head she saw red. She couldn’t discern which voice was whose as she wobbled to the door. Aerona had watched the walls becoming weaker and weaker until it fragments finally gave way. “Take this.” A familiar voice said: She felt a bag hit her chest and fall to the ground. Wolf bane… The scent hit her nostrils, right before her was Iona. “Where is my mother?” “She is out there somewhere fighting.” “They are coming right out of us, they won't be able to get to us with this.” She dug her hands into the bag, taking out a few before chanting a spell. She could hear the howls of the Werewolves, as they took the castle engaging the Witches, the sound of their feet echoing round the castle as Aerona tried to match her breathing to the chaos that played on. A feeling of safety enveloped them and when she looked round to see a blue aura energy, her attention was drawn to the other direction where Celeste emerged covered partly with blood. “Mother!” She said, hugging her mother tightly. “I apologize for all of this.” Aerona muttered amidst sobs. “Just focus, we'd talk about this-” A loud howl ranted through the hall, with many others resounding. It felt like it went on forever, before a stillness fell over the room that carried an echo of a deep growl. “No fears, just Stand firm.” Celeste said to Aerona cupping her face. She heard the words, but her thoughts were focused on red. Blood dripped and flashed across her line of vision as her hands grasped her face. A headless Witch fell to the ground, and then the head followed, rolling to Aerona feet as she screamed. “Focus, you will be okay” Celeste repeated. She nodded, the ringing in her ears fading. More witches came from behind them in a sort of formation, forming walls as they joined them. The growls were cold and closer, she could literally feel him around her and when she looked back up there he was leading his pack. “You don't have to do this, Celeste.” Zayn said, chuckling In a melancholic manner. His eyes gaze ran down as he searched for Aerona. When he found her, his gaze settled down her body. Thought they said the wolf bane would stop them… Aerona thought. They broke through the next wall easily and again all she saw was the drip, drip, drip of red as anguish tore into her chest, cutting her consciousness down to only emotion. Soon, each of the walls fell to Zayn conquest… “Take this Aerona.” Her mother said, quickly reaching to her hair, removing her hairpin. “Keep this with you, no matter what happens.” Don't forget. “ Why are you giving me this mother?” Aerona asked, surprised. “ You will know instantly.” As the next wall fell, Celeste's voice rasped through the hallway. “Stand back!” “Stand back, you all heard her.” Iona echoed. They all dropped the aura wall, with the Warlocks making a stronger wall to hold them back. The rest of the witches turned and ran in the other direction, with Aerona running ahead. “Follow me.” Celeste said as she took a torch from the wall and went down through a dark tunnel with the rest of the witches coming with them. She came face to face with a huge metal door. “This leads to the woods.” They could hear the growls from the wolf coming from behind them as Celeste muttered a spell, breaking down the chains on the gate. As they ran through it into the dark woods with the Werewolves behind. Aerona ran with all her might, she could literally feel their breath against her neck. She looked behind her one more time at the lost castle one more time. Unaware of the danger ahead, Aerona took one more step and fell right through a dark ditch as her screams filled the air… "Aerona!" She could hear the name faintly as her eyes dimed close.
