Chapter Eight

    "You rented the entire top of the mountain? Just for me?" I confirmed. "Well yes, Sinclair, I do like you. I just wanted you to see that," he exclaimed. "I do like you, but you don't have to do things like this to make me like you more. Although I do appreciate it very much, and it's amazing. I just want you to be yourself, that's all. I know that renting this had to be super expensive." I said. "Well, this is me being me, but no, it wasn't a lot. My mom's best friend runs the place, so I didn't have to pay much." he smiled as he hugged me. "Now, let's enjoy this day, shall we?" he requested. As he said that, he plunged into the pond below. That's until I moved away from here. I came up here the other day to see if it was still the same, and it was." he said.

     Everything about this day was so amazing. It made me fall for Joey even more so. 'Maybe I am ready for more from him.' I thought to myself. Joey grabbed my arms and put them around his neck. Joey went over to a tree and pulled out 2 fishing poles from behind it. "So, have you ever fished before?" he said excitedly. "Oh my god? I love to fish. I used to go with my dad all the time when I was a little girl. Do you have any bait? I said excitedly. Joey pulled out a container of red worms. "If you want, I can put the worm on the hook for you," he exclaimed. I pulled out a worm from the container and pushed it onto the hook. "Like a pro," he laughed.

     I cast the line into the water, and within seconds, I had big bass at the end of my line, I reeled it in, and Joey took a picture of me with it. "Stunning," he smiled. Joey was using a lure to try and catch the bass, but he wasn't having any luck. "I guess they just want the real food," I smirked. Joey just stared at me. Like he was thinking of saying something but never did. I just thought to myself, 'Gosh he's cute.'

After catching loads of fish, we put the rods to the side, and he took me over to the tent. Inside, he had some battery-operated lights hanging around, there was a pallet inside the tent, with lots of pillows. The two of us lay down on the pile of covers and snuggle for a little while. I started to get a little sleepy as Joey was stroking my hair. "God, you are beautiful," he said. Joey started to kiss me. "I have enjoyed this day with you. I hope that you have enjoyed it too." he smiled. "You know that I have." I grinned back. "Now, let's get you home pretty lady," he said.

     We left the mountain, leaving everything behind. "Who is going to clean this up? I asked. "I'll be back after I drop you off and clean it up." We got back down to the bottom of the mountain and got back into the car. After a while, we got back to my apartment, where Joey walked me to my door. "Well, here we are. I have something to ask you," he said. I could tell that he was nervous. "Go ahead," I urged. "I like you, and I've had a good time on our dates. I'm not sure if this is too soon or not, but would be my girlfriend?" he asked as he rubbed the back of his neck.
