Chapter One:Heartbreak 💔

POV: Sasha

Vic and Sasha have been inseparable since childhood.They grew up in the same village, attended the same primary and secondary schools, sharing dreams, secret and endless laughter together.The people in the village affectionately called them "husband and wife",as everyone believed they were destined to be together.Things were always perfect when they were together, but everything changed ten years ago when Vic left the village to pursue a better life in the city.

Before he left,Vic made a solemn promise to Sasha.He vowed never to fall in love with another woman no matter how far apart they were.

For years, Sasha held on to that promise.She dreamed of the day Vic will return, the day he would find her and fulfill the love they once shared.

But as time passed, doubt crept in .She wondered if Vic still thought about her or if he had forgotten the promised he made.

One day, her friend Rita visited from the city and invited Sasha to join her. Sasha hesitated at first, but Rita's enthusiasm was infectious. She decided to take a chance and leave her small town behind.

In the city, Sasha and Rita became inseparable. They explored the city's hidden gems, tried new foods, and laughed together until their sides ached. One night, Rita suggested that they should go to a nightclub party, and Sasha agreed.

As they danced and enjoyed themselves, Sasha's eyes locked onto a familiar face - Vic, her boyfriend. He was with another girl, laughing and kissing her. Sasha heart sank, and she felt a wave of anger wash over her.

She approached Vic, her voice shaking with emotion. "Vic, is this what you've been doing all these years?" she demanded. "You've been making a name for yourself, but you've forgotten about me?"

Vic looked taken aback, but Sasha did not wait for any response,she grab Rita's hand desperate to leave the club. But Rita stopped her. Sasha, why are you leaving so early?

"I feel suffocated in this place and I can't stay any longer "I replied trying to keep my composure.

"Oh, sorry Sasha.I'm still enjoying the party.What are we going to do now?"Rita asked, concerned.

"Nothing,meet me at home,"Sasha said.

"Okay"Rita replied.

I walked out of the club alone,tears streaming down my face.The night felt cold and empty as I made my way home , the reality of Vic's betrayal sinking in deeper with every step.

Back at home,I laid on my bed, crying uncontrollably. I couldn't believe that the man I had loved for so long,has moved on with someone else. The promise we made felt like it meant nothing now.My heart ached with pain I had never felt before.

When Rita returned home, she found Sasha on the floor near the bed weeping.She dropped her handbag on the bed and rushed to her side."Sasha, you're crying! What happened?Is it because I didn't follow you back home". Rita asked, worried but Sasha didn't respond and kept on weeping.

"Sasha please talk to me, what's wrong?"Rita pleaded.

Finally,she spoke,her voice filled with pain. "It’s not because of that...It’s because of him

"Who?"Rita asked anxiously.

"Vic,"I said loudly, my heart breaking all over again.

"Vic?Who is he?"Rita asked,confused

"The guy I told you about...the one I was friends with from childhood in my village,"I explained.

Rita's eyes widened in realization."Oh,I remember.What happened to him?"

"I saw him in the club today,"Sasha said,her voice trembling.

"Wow! that's good news"Rita said

But Sasha shook her head,tears streaming down her face."No...I saw him with a lady.They were kissing each other."

"Really?"Rita exclaimed,shocked

"Yes,"I confirmed it, Sasha voice breaking".

I waited for him for years, Rita.But he’s with another woman now.

"It’s okay,Sasha.Don’t cry.If Vic is truly meant for you,God will bring him back to you.And if he’s not,God will give you another man who will love you the way you deserve."Rita tried to console her while hugging her.

Sasha nodded, trying to believe her words."okay",I whispered,as Rita gently wiped away her tears.

The next day, Rita went to Sasha bedroom to offer her food but she rejected it, telling her that she didn't have an appetite.

Rita moved closer to her and touches her body when she noticed that Sasha had a fever.

"Oh my goodness, Sasha you are having fever,let me quickly go to pharmacy and get you some medicine and eat something until I return."As Rita hurried down to the nearby pharmacy.

"Sasha now, you haven't eaten anything from this food.If anything happens to you now,God forbid, the guy you are crying for will still be living his life and I won't be happy.So,am begging you Sasha eat your food so that you will be able to use your medicine". Rita said after she was back from the pharmacy.

Not quite long,Sasha sat on the bed and requested for the food,she ate the food and also used her medicine.She went to the bathroom to make herself clean and Rita was happy but she could see in her eyes that she wasn't happy,so she decided to cheer up by singing a song wrongly, knowing fully well that Sasha will scold her for singing the song incorrectly.

"Rita,if you don't know the song why are you singing it".Sasha said as she closed the bathroom door.

"Because I want someone to teach me the song, will you teach me?"Rita asked.

Okay,I will teach but not now.

No o,I want to know it now or else I will keep singing the song.

Sasha taught Rita the song and Sasha felt relieved.Rita continued to cheer her up,they played games, listened to music,danced and do other things together.
