Chapter 8

-Alison- My head was throbbing. When I closed the door to the guest bedroom, I stood outside and massaged my temples and pinched the bridge of my nose. When Gary and I were going through our divorce, my headache rate had gone up phenomenally. I hated being stressed. Stress usually means tension in my neck and shoulders. Tension meant throbbing pain. Pain meant I could not function and when that happens, all facets of my life came to a standstill. I cannot afford to be stressed at this point. There is no way that Gary should be able to come in here and cause my stress rate to again go up. I believed that everyone’s home, no matter how humble, should be their castle: a place where they can be themselves and just be – without stress or fear. I took a deep breath. I felt as if my home were under invasion and I was forced to cohabitate with the enemy. I closed my eyes and took deep breaths as I tried to calm myself - and stave off the bout of nausea that threatened to overpower me - before I had to walk to the living room. There, in the living room, Gary sullied it with his presence. I felt as if I wanted to puke just by knowing that he was in this home, in a space I was reclaiming as my own. My nostrils flared as I looked at him sitting there. I felt like I should just pick up the nearest object and hurl it at him, instead, I just hurriedly made my way to my bedroom. Once there, I paced the floor, back and forth, back and forth, thinking of a way I could get rid of Gary. Maybe if I offered to pay his motel fee he would leave. No, I was not going to use my hard earned money to pay for anywhere for him. I was going to soldier it out and not allow him to conquer my peace of mind. It was not enough that Gary had ruined our union, he had to come and ruin what had started off as a splendid night for me. I needed a shower – a long cold shower.   ------- I must have overslept, for when I opened my eyes, the sun was streaming through my window. I yawned and stretched and groaned a little. I did not feel as if I wanted to get out of this bed. There was a kind of tiredness that lingered in my body. Well, it was not at all unexpected, since I was up way past my bedtime. I felt as if a lorry had driven over me. As I rolled over and tugged the covers over my head, there was a knock at the door. “Who is it?” I asked, a little on edge. “It’s Jade,” I heard from the other side of the door. “Oh ok, come in,” I answered. Jade entered with a tray of something that smelled delicious. I grabbed a bed tray table I kept by my bed and placed it over my lap so he could rest all of this deliciousness on it. “Oh, Jade, you didn’t have to,” I beamed, pleased that he had done this for me. “It was my pleasure,” he responded. “I really appreciate what you have done for me and I want to show you how much it means to me.” “How…I mean…how did you find your way around my kitchen?” I queried. “It wasn’t easy but I was determined to do this for you. I hope you enjoy it,” Jade said as he stood there smiling broadly at me. When he did that I was quite tempted to pull him in for a kiss. Jade must have seen the look in my eyes for he leaned down and planted a sweet kiss on my lips. What a way to start the day, I thought. “Wait, did you see my ex-husband when you woke up?” I asked, suddenly remembering that I was under invasion. “Nope,” Jade answered. “He must have left early.” “Alright,” I said and released the breath I did not realize I was holding. “Thank you Jade. I think I will enjoy my breakfast even better now,” I added with a grin. The tray boasted scrambled eggs and french toast with a little butter, cream cheese and marmalade to the side. I didn’t really like marmalade but I would eat it simply because Jade had served it to me. A small plate had a strawberry and a few grapes while a small glass of orange juice stood to the side. A chocolate muffin completed the meal. I took up the toast and added some eggs to it and then took a bite. “Where did you learn to cook?” I asked, my eyes widening in appreciation. “This tastes delicious!” “I took Home Economics last year,” Jade grinned down at me. “Oh ok then,” I said, taking a sip of my orange juice before chomping down on my toast and egg combo. Jade came to sit beside me on the bed. “What are you doing?” I asked curiously even as I scooted over a little to give him room. “Let me feed you,” he suggested. My heart rate increased tremendously when he leaned towards me to take up the strawberry and offer it to me. I opened my mouth and took a bite of the tart fruit, my salivary glands springing into action. I could not even look Jade in the eyes. I’m not sure if he knew what he was doing. There is nothing that I love more as foreplay than my man feeding me. “If you continue like this….” I began but Jade was in command. He placed the strawberry to my lips, urging me to take another bite. I did so, again refusing to look him in the eye. “Close your eyes,” he commanded me and I did as I was told. I felt as his finger touched my mouth and I knew he had marmalade on them. I opened my mouth and allowed him to put his finger into my mouth and sucked the marmalade from his finger. He removed his finger and fed me a little more marmalade. This time I sucked a little harder on his finger, going up and down his long digit, silently telling Jade what I would like to do to him. Jade removed his finger and I then felt his tongue on my mouth, licking my marmalade-smeared lips. I felt my excitement expand and my n*****s hardening beneath the flimsy nightgown I had chosen to wear to bed. Jade moved to capture my lips in a soft, teasing kiss. “Please, Jade, don’t tease me like that,” I whispered. “Tell me to stop,” Jade whispered back. I didn’t answer, for how could I tell him to stop when I was enjoying this so much, and as I tried to revel in the moment? Teasing me was a surefire way to make me want him even more. I opened my eyes to look up at him. The tray was still on my lap with the rest of my delicious breakfast for which I no longer had an appetite. My appetite was now open for something else. I thought it was an opportunity for me to finish what we had started last night. As I looked at the tray a thought came to mind. “Why don’t you share my breakfast with me?” I said provocatively as I took a grape and then put it into his mouth. Jade graciously accepted my offering and he was not afraid to look sexily into my eyes. I dipped my finger into the cream cheese and placed it into his mouth too. He captured my hand and held my finger in his mouth. He suckled on it and then flicked his tongue between my fingers. I thought for certain that moisture would be running down my legs by now. Jade removed the tray from over my lap only to replace the tray with himself. Usually, I would have been the one to straddle my man but I found this to be so sexy. Slowly, Jade began to gyrate his hips. “I could get used to this,” I murmured as I watched him move his hips. I lifted his tee and ran my hands over his abdomen and traced the line of hair there. I ran circles around his n*****s and watched as he bit his lip and tried to control himself. He pushed me a little so that I was now more or less reclining on my back. He lowered his fully clothed self, straddling one of my thighs and only allowing his d**k, encased in his jeans to partially connect with my womanly core, his hands resting on either side of me. My hands went around to grab his a** while he ground his hips into mine. I loved the hardness of his d**k as it rubbed against my mon pubis. I lifted my hips off the bed to greet him grind for grind. I wanted to undo the button on his jeans but he stopped me. “Not yet,” Jade said. It was at that very moment that there was a knock on my bedroom door. We quickly separated; Jade adjusted and quickly composed himself and then took up the tray. I pulled the covers up and over my breasts. I just could not believe that we were interrupted again! “Yes?” I answered agitatedly. The door opened and Gary stood there in the doorway. “Thanks for breakfast, Jade,” I said trying to sound as normal as I could. Gary looked at him a little suspiciously as he walked past him with the tray. As he was about to step further in the room, I stopped him. “Wait for me outside. I’ll be with you shortly,” I said to him. I certainly did not want him in my bedroom, my holy sanctuary. I alighted from the bed and grabbed my robe and then made my way out to my ex-husband, wondering what in the name of Buddah he wanted. I hope he was about to tell me that he had found an apartment; thus, he did not need to stay here anymore. When I stepped out, he was standing in the middle of the living room. “Yes, Dave?” I asked as I stood glaring at him, my arms akimbo. “What do you want now?” “I need to talk to you in private,” Gary said as he looked over at Jade in the kitchen. “I’ll be in the guest room,” Jade said as he made his exit. “What is it Gary?” I asked quite irritated that he had come and disrupted yet another sweet lovemaking session between me and Jade. “I’ve been thinking a lot and I think that we have a lot in common that we can build on,” Gary started. When I was about to interrupt him he put up a hand. “I know what you are going to say but please hear me out,” Gary continued. He walked over to the console table by the door and returned with a small gift box and a bunch of flowers. He got down on his two knees in front of me and held out the gifts. I took them rather awkwardly. He then took my free hand in his hands. “Please give us another chance, Ally,” Gary pleaded. “I have been a fool and I want to be with only you. I have been so miserable. I have been so depressed. I messed up, Ally but I am only human and I promise you that I will never break your heart again. I need you in my life. I will be the best husband ever and I will prove this to you for the rest of my life. Just please give us a chance. One more time. Please, Ally. I am begging you.” I released my hands from his. “Get up, Gary,” I said. “You don’t need to do that. I told you already that I am not getting back together with you and I mean that, so stop the groveling. You have done enough and enough is enough. It is time for you to just move on with your life and try to do better by whomever you decide to get with next. It’s over between us. Simple. Move on.” “Ally, I am so very sorry,” Gary said and I saw the moisture gather in his eyes but did not leak out. My heart softened a bit and I laid the gift and the flowers on the coffee table and turned to look at him. I opened my arms and he stepped into them. It was then that I heard him crying. And it was then that Jade walked into the room. Gary released himself from my arms and headed for the balcony, I think, a little ashamed for a stranger to see him crying. “Aughm…I am going to head home now, Ali…I mean, Mrs. Clarke,” Jade said, aware that Gary might be hearing what he was saying. “Ok, Jade,” I answered and walked with him to the door. “I hope that things are better when you get home. Call me if you need me, ok Jade?” “I doubt they will be better. It will be better when I am out of that house. I just cannot get along with that man,” Jade replied. “Like I said, call me if you need me,” I said. Jade opened his arms for a hug. “I had a really good time with you, Allison,” he said suggestively. I and my nether region smiled a little. “I had a good time too, Jade,” I said softly. “Alright, bye and take care,” Jade said as he walked out the door. I softly closed the door and headed back to see what was happening with Gary. Although he had broken my heart, he was human – a faulty one – but weren’t we all?  I slid the door open and went to stand with Gary on the balcony. He seemed to have composed himself but I could see the unhappiness in his eyes. I felt a tad bit sorry for him but he had caused this on himself and I was resolute in my stance: I would not get back with him. I had reached a point of peace and I was not about to get back with someone who had broken my heart so badly. “I just wish you would give me another chance,” Gary said yet again, looking at me with hope in his eyes. “I’m truly sorry, Gary. I can’t do that. Sorry,” I said and walked back inside, giving him some space to think and let that sink him. Hopefully he will get the picture and move on with his life.
