6 Amber I opened my eyes, but it seemed I was still dreaming. Sitting up, I studied the soft, white blanket over my legs. And this dress? I smoothed my hands on the silky fabric of the beautiful white gown I was wearing. Stunned, I looked around. Was I some sort of princess in this dream? Because this place…it was out of this world. The bed was probably bigger than a king size, with a tall headboard covered in white velvet. The nightstands flanking the bed were bigger than my puny desk in my apartment. I scooted to the edge of the bed and put my legs down. My bare feet sank in the soft, thick, white rug. On the other side of the bedroom were a tall, round table and two armchairs—also all white. Everything was either white or silver here. Long, heavy curtains covered one of the walls.
