Chapter Twenty-FourCornell and Arket walked down a sidewalk. There were other people out and about but no one paid any attention to them. “So, where are we going?” Cornell asked. “It's not far now, come on,” she replied and he didn't like all the secrecy all of the sudden. All of this was beginning to feel like some kind of an elaborate trap.
The two of them turned a corner into an alley. At the end a tall figure was standing there, he was looking at his hands as if he hadn't seen them in a long time. Then he noticed them and started walking in their direction. The first thing Cornell noticed about the guy was his glowing white eyes. He wasn't sure if he should attack or what. Besides the strange eyes, nothing seemed aggressive about him.
