Two Birds One Stone

Chapter 2

I wake up to Luca lightly shaking me. “ What do you want, Luca?” I ask,annoyed at the fact that he woke me up. Then I look down and see that he has a plate of food in his hand and I try to sit up. When I try to sit up a pain that's worse than before shoots through my back making me yelp in pain.

“ Angelina whats wrong?” Luca and AJ both ask at the same time with worried expressions on their faces. I look at both of them and shake my head as if to say nothing. They both look at me like they know something is wrong. I give them a small smile and take the plate of food from Luca. “ Hey that was mine!” He says in a surprised tone.

“ Its mine now.” I say sticking, my tongue out at him. AJ laughs at our childish behavior and goes back to eating. Once I am finished eating I try to get up and put my plate in the sink but AJ stops me.

“I’ve got it. You just sit here and watch tv or something. You don't need to be getting up.” AJ says while taking my plate out of my hands. When he gets back into the living room I pat the spot beside me signaling for him to sit. Once he sits I lay on his lap using him as a pillow and start watching tv while he plays with my hair.

After a while AJ asks me to let him up so he can put a new movie in and grab a few blankets. He shuts the lights off and sits back down letting me use him as a pillow again. When the movie finishes Aj Picks me up and takes me to my room so i can sleep for a little while. “ Will you stay with me for a little while? At least until I fall asleep.” I say looking at him with the puppy dog eyes.

“ I don’t know. What if your brother thinks there’s something going on between us?” AJ says worried about what Luca thinks. I look at him with the puppy dog eyes again hoping it works this time.

“ You can stay on top of the blanket and Luca would probably be jumping for joy if he thought something was going on between us.” I tell him with the look of determination on my face. Once he sighs he starts to walk to the other side of my bed and lays down. I curled up against him and drifted off to a short sleep. A few minutes later Luca walked past the door and squealed like a girl. “ Shut up Luca! Can’t you see I’m trying to sleep.” I say with my eyes still closed ready for Luca to shut up.

“ Awe my little sister finally has a boyfriend.” Luca says excitedly. I just flip him the bird and go back to sleep for a few hours. When I wake up AJ isn’t in the bed but I hear him and Luca talking in the kitchen. I think about trying to get up but my back starts to hurt so I decide to yell for Luca.

“ LUCA GET IN HERE!” I scream as the pain gets worse. A few seconds later Luca shows up in the doorway. “ My back hurts really bad. One second it was fine but the next it started to hurt extremely bad.” I explain to him as I roll over to see if that will help the pain go away. Once he hears this he immediately starts to look at my back. After a little while he yells for Aj to get the antibacterial wipes and the first aid kit.

After about a half hour Luca tells AJ that my cut is infected bady. “We can’t go to the hospital. They will want to know what happened to her and we can't let them know our parents abused us.” Luca says to AJ while trying to think of what to do. After a few seconds Luca walks out of the room without saying anything. When he walks back into the room he has containers of different contents. “ AJ will you go get a bowl and a spoon please.Then when you get back will you make sure she stays still and calm.” Luca says while looking at AJ.

After Luca says that AJ runs to the kitchen to get the spoon and bowl. When he comes back he hands them to Luca and walks to the other side of the bed and sits down grabbing my hand and whispering soothing words to me. After a while my body relaxes and Luca starts putting the mixture on my cut. After about an hour of that Luca finally gets up. “ Angelina you can not wipe this off for a few hours. You have to stay laying down. Once it sits on your back for a few hours I will wipe it off and redo your stitches.” Luca says while wiping off his hands. Once he is done he walks out of the room and goes in the direction of the living room.

“ I can stay here if you want. I’m sure Luca wouldn’t mind if I keep you company.” AJ says while covering my legs up so I don't get very cold. I look at him and smile nodding as if to say he can stay. Once he lays down beside me I lay my head on his chest and decide to go back to sleep for the few hours I have to wait.

A few hours later I wake up to something cold touching my back. I look behind me to see Luca wiping the mixture off my back. When I look up I see AJ smiling down at me. Soon after Luca gets done wiping the mixture off, he tells me he is going to start stitching my cut back up. I look at AJ and he gives my hand a reassuring squeeze. After A while my back is all stitched up and sore. I lay in bed for the rest of the day while Luca goes out and looks for a job and a place for us to live. AJ comes to check on me every so often. After a while I ask him for a book to read. A few seconds later he brings me a book called “Divergent”. I fall asleep halfway through the book.
