Taking out ice shard, Mallory read over the spell, the parchment vanishing in vapour once she was done. Her steps slowed when she saw Deneg leaned against the side of the wagon, watching them approach. She glanced to the side, following Deneg’s gaze. He watched Callum. At Callum’s expression, she wanted to remind him that Deneg had already walked out once. She kept the words to herself. It wasn’t like Callum didn’t already know and he certainly had a good memory.
Stepping away from the wagon, Deneg waited for them to reach him, light from a nearby lantern highlighting his features. “I thought you would have arrived at the location by now.”
