Mallory managed not to smile while her brother could see her expression, but the moment his attention was caught by something, her smile escaped. She bet he wouldn’t have been hushing anyone if Ryan hadn’t been teasing him. He would have been the one they were trying to silence.
They continued to stay well behind Spike, coming to a stop when the young wandering soul stopped gliding forward.
“Think it’s found the dark forces?” Ryan kept his voice low.
Mallory shrugged. Before she could say anything, Brodie spoke.
“I’ll find out.”
Callum grabbed Brodie’s arm before he’d taken more than a step, dragging him back. “None of us want to be spotted.”
Brodie shrugged Callum’s hand off his arm and turned to Mallory. “Make me invisible then.”
