--Third Person POV--
A few weeks later, Marietta was still at war with herself. She knew that she was Jeremy's mate. Her inner wolf told her that he wasn't going to hurt her. Despite this, whatever progress they'd made had been destroyed when she'd been kidnapped by her now dead uncle. The only person she found herself able to trust was Jeremy's mother, Juliette Winters.
Meanwhile, Jeremy had no idea how to comfort his mate. He saw her pain behind her bright blue eyes. He saw the scars that she'd have for the rest of her life. He saw the fear and timidness in her every move. He saw her devour food as if she'd never get another meal. The sight that he'd seen when he went to rescue her would forever be burned into his mind. How could somebody be so cruel? He mourned for her hard life. He would never know how to truly help her, but he was always going to be there for her when she needed him most.
--Mary--
I needed my mate! I'd gone soo long without him! Stubborn Marietta, my human part, still wouldn't trust him. Next week would be a full moon for a week. During this time, us wolves are at our strongest and our wolf natures can take over our human parts anytime. I decided then, I'd let James (Jeremy's wolf part) mark us as his.
Marietta, you have no say. I'm letting our true mate mark us next week. Then we can mark him. Got it?
"But, I'm not ready, Mary."
Marietta, I am. You've got a week. When it's done by your true mate, it'll hurt for a second then you feel pure Bliss. I promise it won't be so bad. We need him. Oh! Here he comes!
When we hit the woods, we shifted to my form for the first time in eighteen months. Oh! It felt so good to be free again! I ran, slowly to start with, and sped up after a few minutes. Next thing I knew, James was there with me. Playfully, he tackled me. Marietta told me to cower away, but in wolf form, it was my choice. I ignored her. We rolled and romped around like we were kids. His golden-brown coat was absolutely gorgeous. His blue-green eyes turned a chocolate brown in wolf form. He was a huge wolf, a handsome alpha.
--James--
She was in wolf form! Man was she beautiful! Her white coat was tipped in a golden color. Her eyes strangely never changed color from the bright icy blue until she got playful. When she turned playful, they turned a light earthen brown. She was large for your average female wolf. Then again, she wasn't your average female. She was Luna again, would have been Alpha of the Bloodmoon pack had it not been taken over by my pack and me. When we mated, I was going to place her as the Luna of my pack and, if she wished, as the Alpha of the Bloodmoon pack.
I wrestled with her for about an hour. She was a hell of a lot stronger than most thought she was. She'd had little to no training, while I'd been in rigorous training since I was five. She was just as strong as, if not stronger than, me. That says a lot since I was the strongest of the packs throughout the eight states we covered.
We ran back to the manor in wolf form, just as happy as could be. Before we got there, I stopped her.
Mary, Marietta?
Yes, Alpha?
Will you make me the happiest Alpha in the world and be my Luna, my wife, my mate for life?
Mary: HELL YEAH!
Marietta: I can't.
Dammit Marietta. When are you gonna see that I will NEVER hurt you? We're in wolf form. Search me, and you'll find I'm true. There's nobody I want more than you.
Alpha. *she sighs* How could you possibly want me when I was with another for two years? When I had five miscarriages just from him and more from others? When I am a weakling? When I trust nobody? When I am broken? Why would you want me? You deserve better.
She was in tears.
Dear Marietta. I want you because I love you. I want to help you heal from the past. I want to be there for you through everything. I will wait however long it takes, Marietta. Don't ever tell me that I deserve better. I could NEVER ask for better than you, my love.
We changed back into human form.
