Seven Years Later… "Angel, Daniel. Be quick. We are late for the flight." A stunning and attractive woman called as she walked down the stairs. She was dressed in a white shirt and black mini skirt coupled with a jacket. “Here, mom!” An equally darling and cute little girl, said. She’s an splitting image of the woman. The little one appeared to be brimming with joy and exuberance. The woman smiled and asked, “Where’s your brother?” “I’m here mum!” A charming yet aloof young boy said as he climbed down the stairs. Both children were true twins, though they bore no physical resemblance to one another. The only tell-tale trait that gave away their relation was the hue of their eyes. The young woman couldn’t help but admire the twins. "Mom, you just said we will be late, why are you still staring at us?" Daniel frowned, he was always the most sensible, mature and serious one. The woman let out a sigh, acknowledging the fact that her son was more like his father. "Okay my darling. Let's go." ***** “Angel, be mindful of where you step, my darling. Cease your incessant jumping!” The young woman cautioned as they came out of the plane. The little girl would beam at anyone who caught her eyes, even striking a pose for those who wished to capture her on camera. She was just so adorable. Her charming and amiable demeanor drew people in, triggering an influx of snap- happy individual. “Don’t mind her. I will be glad if she stumble! Besides, she almost knocked everything inside the plane! She’s just- - - forget it” Daniel, her twin brother said to the woman. Despite the girl having a warmth and cheerful aura, the little boy exuded a colder aura. He didn’t even grant a glance to those who waved at him. Despite possessing striking features and an undeniable cuteness, his attitude was vastly different from his sister or even from his own handsome appearance. Sporting a pair of sun glasses, he nonchalantly placed his hands in his pockets, giving off a young models. “Daniel…. why would you leave her to fall when you can easily help her? She’s your sister, and it’s your responsibility to keep her from any harm” The woman reprimanded the little boy. Mom, it’s not my fault if she keeps bouncing like a little mouse. She can walk, can’t she?. Then why the need to bounce? And what’s with her posting for others to take pictures of her? I’m grateful that I arrived in this world before her. I wouldn’t want to be known as hee younger sibling” Daniel retorted, his tone frigid. The woman sighed and then turned to the girl who had stopped on her tracks and crossed her tiny arms over her chest, visibly pouting in annoyance. Even in that state, she looked so adorable with her cheek puffed out. “What’s the matter, my angel?”The woman halted and stopped in front of the little girl. Daniel also halted on his tracks, his gaze settling on his twin sibling. An audible exhale escapedhis lips upon seeing the expression on her face. “Not right now!” He sighed inwardly. It was a face he had encountered numerous times during his six years of existence, and it was at this moment he regretted a twin sister like angel. “Mom, Daniel doesn’t want me! We were brought into this world on the same day, right?. Why does he treat me like a child” Angel huffed in indignation, her eyes shimmering with mushed tears. But you behave like a child!” Daniel retorted before their mother could respond. “Daniel, stop teasing your sister. Look, she’s about to burst into tears because of taunts!” The striking chided her som with a gentle smile. As if given a signal by their mother, Angel promptly burst into tears. Her face was soon contorted with sobs and sniffles. The people around was stunned at how she could cry easily. Their mother tried to calm her down but to no avail. Passerby at the airport paused and stared, finding the scene somewhat comical but also feeling sympathy for the sobbing little girl. Daniel sighed and lightly smacked his forehead as sign of frustration. Without a second thought, he strode towards his sister, pulling out an handkerchief from his pocket to wipe away her tears. “Look there’s no need for tears. I’m sorry, alright? You are my little sister and I love you. You can still be a child and I’ll always take care of you. Now please stop crying?” Daniel cajoled his sister. The onlookers couldn’t help but feel moved by the young boy’s actions. He was exhibiting maturity far beyond his age. Numerous people took photos and videos while others chattered amongst themselves. It was so real to see such a scene among siblings or even the actions of the boy. “Aww, how adorable. I wish my kids were as sweet as this! My kids are like wolves instead of humans!” A woman remarked with envy. “You are absolutely right. He’s more grown-up than most adult males” Another person chimed in. Numerous such comments circulated around but the little boy in question didn’t pay attention to them. His focus were solely on his sister as he wiped her tears and snort. After a while, the stunning woman with her children let out a sigh. She has witnessed this type of chaos wherever they went. It was as though, her children were the center of attention, rather than her. After Daniel finished wiping her face, Angel threw her tiny hands around her brother’s neck and chuckled. “Mom, Daniel is the epitome of excellence!” She declared gleefully. It was astonished how quickly she has gone from tears to joy. “Yes, I concur……Now come on, let’s be on our way!. Your uncle must be waiting for us outside!” The woman exclaimed as she held onto both kids’ hands. Angel continued to skip and grin delightfully while holding her mother’s hand. Daniel, on the other hand, maintain his composure with one hand in his mothers’ and the other still in his pocket. He excluded coldness, in stark contrast to his sister. “Oh f**k” the stunning woman exclaimed out of nowhere, coming to a sudden halt. “Mom, you uttered a bad word” Angel gasped, gazing up at her mother with her wide blue eyes. Daniel nodded in agreement with his sister’s observation, making their mother stunned for a moment. How in the world did she give birth to such kids? Well that’s how well thought their mother brought them up. She undoubtedly love them with every bounce in her body. However, she also made sure to put their character in check for the betterment of their upbringing. “I’m so sorry my darlings. Please sit here while I take a brief leave to use the restroom. I assure you, I will be return promptly” The woman spoke, finding a suitable spot for the children to wait for her. “Okay, mommy, but don’t be long” Angel insisted. “Daniel, please keep a close watch on your sister. I’ll be back soon” The woman beseeched her son. “Do not worry Mom, she’s in my reliable care” Daniel asserted, eliciting a smile from his mother as she placed her bag with them and quickly left to use the restroom. Moment passed, and Angel could not sit still. While Daniel occupied with his phone, the little girl slipped away upon seeing a Barbie custume. “Wait! Wait! I want to touch you! Please!” Angel pleaded, chasing after the beloved character but alas, her miniature legs were no match for the costumed individual. She kept chasing after the costume person, wanting to just touch and play with them, yet she still couldn’t catch up with the person. However, it wasn’t long until the little girl realized she was in a predicament. Lost and unable to find her way to her brother, she wandered among the crowd, searching. With no solution, Angel stomped her feet and began to cry. The attention of many was drawn to her, wondering which negligent guardian would leave their child unattended in such a crowded place as the airport. After bawling her eyes out for a while, Angel wiped her tears eyes and started to walk away, but someone accidentally nudged her. She cried out as she braved herself for impact, yet tender and strong arms caught her just in time. Angel rubbed her watery eyes and slowly opened them. Her tears ceased as she locked her gaze with the person who saved her. Her small mouth hung open slightly as she continued to stare into the face of her rescuer. “Hello there! Why are you all by yourself? Where are your parents? It’s dangerous here, little one” The man holding her in his embraced asked in a cheerful grin. Gleaming in delight, Angel reciprocated the grin and embraced the mab tightly. She wrapped her tiny arms on the man’s neck tightly and giggled. The people around the man was taken aback. Who was the little girl hugging their boss so intimately. Wait! Her eyes…..they were spitting image of their boss. Could she be a relative? The people, who seemed to be the bodyguards of the unfamiliar man, pondered to themselves. “Excuse me, little one….. may I know who your parents are and where they are right now? Why are you here alone and crying” The man questioned the little girl, even offering loving gestures of comfort. If one was unaware of the situation, they might mistake them for father and daughter. After all, their eyes color looked exactly the same. “I’m Angel. I don’t have a Daddy. I only have a Mom and a brother, Daniel. They are very good to me.” Angel spoke joyfully because her expression turned sorrowful once more, as if she wanted to weep. “Hey sweetheart, don’t cry. You’re so adorable. Beautiful girls shouldn’t cry.”The man consoled her with a warm smile. Angel wiped her large cerulean eyes before responding….. “My Mom left me with Daniel because she wanted to use the restroom. I left Daniel’s side when I saw Barbie. Now I’m lost and I can’t find Daniel.” Angel explained in a sorrowful tone, puffing her cheeks and sobbing again. The man furrowed his brows before comprehending the situation. He shook his head and smiled. It seemed the little girl was mischievous when she left her brother side without the latter’s notice. “It’s alright…..Let’s go find your brother - - - -“ “ANGEL!!!!” The man in mid-sentence when he heard another tiny yet panicky voice. “Daniel! It’s Daniel!! He found me!!!” Angel exclaimed cheerfully, wriggling out of the man’s embrace. She ran over to her brother when she saw him. “Angel where did you go?. Why did you leave my side?. Are you alright?” Daniel asked with concern, embracing his sister. The fear that consumed him when he realized his sister was missing was almost too much to bear. “I’m sorry, Daniel. I shouldn’t have left you alone. I promise I won’t do it again!” Angel said, her eyes welling with tears once more. It still baffles Daniel how his sister easily cry the moment she blinked her eyes. “It’s fine. Don’t just tell Mommy that you wandered off on your own. We don’t want her to be mad at you.” Daniel gently said as he wiped away his sister’s tears. “Enough crying. We must go before Mother returns” he added, tightly gripping her hand. The spectators gazed at them affectionately once more, amazed by Daniel’s display of tenderness. He looked mature at his age. “Look, uncle helped me when I was nearly about to fall. He is quite handsome.” Angel exclaimed, pointing her small finger towards the man who still stood, mortified as he observed the little boy. Daniel’s gaze met the man’s, and his expression immediately soured. Even the surrounding individuals looked at the strange pair with confusion. Could they truly be father and son? The man was stunned to see the little boy approached him. It was almost as if he was looking at his younger self. How was this possible? Who was this boy who bore such a striking resemblance to him. “Huh Daniel, why do you look so similar to this uncle? He even has the same eyes as me,” Angel interrupted, breaking the intense gaze between Daniel and the stranger. “Angel, come on, let’s go. Mom must be worried about us.” Daniel disregarded her words and quickly ran, his grip on her unwavering. “Wait!” The man called out, but the two figures had already vanished into the crowd. A frowned ceased his face. His brain was working overtime than usual. “Boss, the boy- - -“ his secretary began to say, but he stopped himself upon seeing his boss’s icy stare. “Investigate the identities of those two children. I want all the information immediately,” he ordered coldly before walking away, causing the crowd that had gathered around him earlier to disperse. “Something seems off. Who are those kids? Most importantly, that little boy. He looked exactly like me. And the little girl, she looked like - - - - wait! Natasha!!!!!’ The man thought inwardly as his heart sped up….
