Birthday Planning

Alice POV.

I was standing near the wolfspring falls. Taking in all the beautiful scenery, the gentle breeze and the sound of water running....

It's so peaceful out here....

I love coming here. Suddenly I feel someone is standing behind me. I was going to turn around to see who was standing behind me suddenly I heard Jess calling for me.

And then.....

My eyes shot opened and they saw my reflection hovering over my face!

"Get out of here Jess! I was about to see my mate's face! And you little witch! You woke me up!" I shouted frustrated.

Well you see, the reflection I was talking about is my sister, Jessica. Everyone calls her Jess. She is my twin younger sister. Though she looks like almost same as me, but with a different eye color and hair.

I am a 5' 4" tall with fair skin and dark brown hair and bright crystal blue eyes where Jess is same height and skin with raven black hair with green highlights to match with her deep green eyes with a hint of hazel inside.

"Well, it's 7 in the morning and if you will not get on your pretty ass now, you will be late for your school." She says sarcastically.

I looked at the bedside clock and realised that she is indeed right. I am already lagging behind in my school schedule and I don't want to be late for today's school, as it will directly impact on today's parent's meeting and if it does...... Then God save me from my beasty mom!

I got up quickly and hurried to the washroom without saying anything to Jess and started taking off my clothes. Doing my morning routine, I rushed to the shower grabbing my soap and shampoo and washing my long brown hair...

I stepped out of the shower after 20min. Looking at my reflection through the mirror, feeling satisfied with it. I grab a random outfit for school, blue denim short pants with a white crop top and a denim jacket. I dried my hair and let it loose for now. Matched with my outfit I wore a pair of blue and white canvas. Applying a little bit mascara and eyeliner and a little lipgloss, I went down to have my breakfast.

Jess and Dad were already started eating their breakfast and mom was cooking eggs for me. I checked the time, seeing I am on time, I went to the kitchen to help mom.

"Mom, where's Dexi?" I asked.

" He left early for his practice dear. Did you have something to do with him?" My mom asked.

" Nah.. just asking"

Dexi aka Dexter was my elder brother. Big tall handsome with dark brown eyes and black hair. He is almost 6' 5" tall with a very well built figure. Girls will just roam around him like bees.

Everything seems pretty normal to you yet, but let me tell you it's not quite normal. We are after all Werewolves!

Shocker..!

We are a part of Blue Cresent Pack, one of the largest pack of North America, living at the side of Wolfspring City. Though most of them the residents of this city are wolves, there are a few humans among us. We don't like to mix ourselves with the humans much. So, our pack house is situated deep inside the forest and magically protected from the normal human eyes. My father is the beta of of this pack, Jacob Patterson. My mom, Melissa is working as a nurse in our pack hospital. My brother Dexter currently training for under the head warrior of our pack to become the future Beta. As per our tradition our current Alpha Morris will be transferring his crown and power to his Elder son Xavier Blackwood. He was currently training at the Alpha Camp. His brother, Dominic who is incharge of training program for entire pack is also a friend of my brother. And a must mention he is the crush of my dearest little sister..! Dom is also close our family, specially me, as I see him as my second big brother. He can be really persuasive sometime! You will know...

We ate our breakfast together talking a little bit about our regular lives, then me and Jess and then we bid good bye to our parents and head to the school.

I was driving our black porche car with Jess in the passenger seat. This car is absolutely beauty. We got this as our birthday present when we turned 15. Jess and I were crazily happy after getting this car. But we weren't allowed to drive this untill our 17th.

Yes, we are 17 year old and will be turning 18years after this month. Which means I have a lot of plannings to do..

We reached school thinking all of these stuffs. I noticed Jess was really quite for the entire ride to school today. Something is definitely up with her.

"Hey, Jess!" I asked, a little bit worriedly.

"Huh?" She replied absentmindedly.

" Is everything ok with you? You seemed upset over something."

" Nope! I'm absolutely fine" she replied while taking the books out of locker with a little frown.

" You know I'm your elder sister right? I can tell if something up with you without even looking at you! I said with a smirk forming on my lips.

" God, Ali! You are just one minute elder! You don't need to pull that big sister card every time we talk!" She pouted a little. She is so cute when annoyed.

" Ok, ok... Fine! Now tell me what's been bothering you?" I asked leaning against the locker. We have still 5min time before our 1st class bell.

" You remember last week when I woke up in the middle of night screaming?" She said with a worried tone.

I just simply nodded.

" Well I had a dream that night, I saw few blurry faces, couldn't figure out where am I and suddenly there's a bright light ray thrown in my direction as if to kill me. I was scared. I don't know what that was."

I was listening to her with a tensed expression in my face.

She continued, "I was having these type weird dreams lately. I saw a face yesterday in my dream. It was a lady with white hair and silver eyes. She was telling a little girl to go and hide under the bed as if something very bad was about to happen. Then she directly looked at me and said, 'you have to go now.. there's no time.. you have to wake up..' With that said she pushed me and suddenly I woke up from this weird dream."

She finally stopped talking a deep breath, closing her eyes and then looked at me with hope that I might be able to tell her the reason behind these dreams.

"Well, I guess we should talk to our parents regarding this. I don't like the situation you're facing much. They may be able to get to explain things a little. May be it's a part of being a wolf or something?" I said not sure how to comfort her. I am also getting worried about these dreams she is having..

Trriiinngggg.......

1st class bell......

"Let's go Jess... We'll talk about this later. And also please don't forget to invite your friends to the party as it's only 1week left for our birthday!" I said excitedly to divert her attention from the topic.

Her face smiled up with the thought of the party. She nodded eagerly and said, " Sure sis, and we have a lot of plannings to do for it! Let's talk about it in details after school"

With that said we went to our classes.

After a hectic and boring day of our school it's finally time for our parents teachers meeting. I was a little nervous for this meeting. Don't get me wrong, I'm good in my studies. Jess is even better than me. But I skipped a few classes this year secretly for pack training. I love to fight. I was secretly training with Dom. He says I might be the best she wolf in the entire pack who is damn good in fighting. One day I almost won against Dom! Whatever, I didn't informed mom regarding this. And my thinking if teacher will tell her now regarding this, she might ground me for weeks for lying!

My thought train broke when Jess came out of the meeting room. Ahe was smiling brightly which means Ms. Agatha praised her well in front my mom. Well now it's my turn.

Taking a deep breath, I entire the room.

My mom was sitting across the table facing backward towards the door and Ms Agatha was sitting directly facing the door. So, while I entired she saw me. I tried to read her expression but unable to do so. God! This woman can pretend well! I took a seat beside my mom. Ms. Agatha began..

"Ms. Patterson, your both daughter are pretty good in their studies. But as I said earlier Jess is now participating in a few extra curricular activities to increase her marks, but I see, Alice is lagging behind in this matter. She was a very enthusiastic girl for the past years, but now something seems to distract her."

There she goes... I thought..

But to my surprise, my mom said,

" Ms. Agatha, actually it was my idea to let her loose hee burden on those extra activities, as she was stressing her self, which was causing effect on her health. To me, her health was my first priority. I didn't want to jeopardize that just for a few extra marks."

I was beyond surprise, hearing that. I know my mom is the best mom in yhe world, but when it comes to studies, she won't hear a thing against it, no matter what. But here my mom is fluently lying to my teacher,just to save me! Ha!

" Stop looking at me like that and act as if it's normal. Whatever I said it's true. At least act like it for god's sake!" My mom said through mind link.

I jumped first, hearing her in my head. But quickly act on it to pose as everything is normal.

"Well, then." Ms. Agatha said looking at both of our faces, " if that's the case, then I don't have to say anything else. Thank you Mrs Patterson for coming to today's meeting. "

After greeting good bye to her, we came out of the school front gaye walking towards our car. Jess was already there standing.

One thing I couldn't wrap my head around is that why would she lie? I called out to her, "Mom...."

My mom looked back at me, starting at me lovingly. She is really gorgeous, I thought. With her Dark blonde hair and those hazel eyes.. and the love those eyes hold.. I could look at her like all day.. I thought to myself.

I asked her, "Why did you back me up there?"

She replied lovingly, " Honey, I know that you have been training with Dom, and with recent attacks on the border, that your father was talking about, I really appreciate it. That's why I supported you in there."

She knew.. I couldn't just thought how, but I guess, that's the mother's power, right? I just hugged her and said softly, " I love you Mom.."

" I love you too honey.." she hugged me back.

" And I love all of you the most!" Jess practically screamed while jumping on us.

We all laughed, and then head back to our home.

It's around 5 in the evening when we reached home. We took a detour through local shopping mall for our birthday party shopping. We almost bought all the necessary items required for party, and also ordered our butterscotch cake. The only thing left is our dresses. We thought we will pick it up tomorrow as it's weekend.

Around 6in the evening...

My mom was almost done cooking dinner. Jess is helping her. I am sitting on the couch, making a list for the things to do. Our pack grand hall was already booked for the birthday. All the pack members are also invited for the party. Suddenly I heard Amber's voice through mind link.

"Hey Ali and Jess.. I am back from my vacation.. and guess what...?" She said excitedly.

I looked at Jess and understood she heard that too.

"Peter proposed me..!!! Tomorrow he will be introducing me formally with his parents. You know we agreed to keep out mate relationship a secret until we figure out about this in this vacation. And we finally decided to get married after graduation!"

"Well... Amber...! That's a very good news! I'm so happy for you but you are sure right that you want to settle early?" Jess said with a surprised expression on her face.

" Yeah.. we gave it a long though amd finally agreed. So, what you say Ali?" Amber replied.

" Congratulations girl! I'm really happy for you both and can't wait to see you get married! I guess me Jess are going to be your bridesmaids right..?" I replied, beaming with happiness.

" Nah... I was thinking I won't be needing a bridesmaid, you duffer! You two are my best friend! Of course you will be my bridesmaids when I get married!"

" Well we have a lot of plannings to do then! You must be tired Amber. Go get some rest. We'll talk tomorrow." Jess said.

"Ok! See yaa! Good Night girls.!"

With that said, she cut the link.

Amber is our childhood best friend. She was also 5months elder than us. She found her mate, Peter just the day after her birthday. They went for a two week vacation just to figure out their relationship.

Me and Jess didn't talk much after this on this topic. We knew she is the best one to decide what's best for her.

After 15min dad and Dexter came home. I also finished my party arrangements for the day. We had a nice family dinner, talking about our today's event and retired to our room for the night after saying Good night to all.

Me and Jess always shared the same bedroom. After changing into our night dress, I spoke first,

" Do you think Amber is right to settle with her mate so soon?"

" You know, mate is something that is chosen for you by moon goddess itself. It's your destined soulmate. I guess it's not for us to understand what it's feel like to have your true love now. She must have felt it. I guess she knows the best for herself and her mate." Jess said.

" I guess you are right. We will not understand now. Well speaking of mate, you know today morning I had a dream about him right?"

"How do you know it's your mate? It might be some one else? Right?"

" Nah.. I'm having a feeling.. After our birthday I'm going to find him.." I said dreamily.

" Someone is getting very romantic now, huh..!"

Such a tease she is..! I roll my eyes at her which make her laugh.. I also broke into laugh after a few seconds.

We both fall asleep thinking about our future.....
