Chapter 2

(Art's POV)

Today wasn't like the start of any other day. Today was my last classes of my college career, which I crushed by the way. 3.9 average,because a girl still needs to have a life, a degree in International business, worked for two internships and still helped my parents with pack duties whenever I had break or was just home. Oh did I not mention I was a werewolf well yeah I am and my parents are the Alpha and Luna of the Red forest pack. Other than fall our woods are not red. We get our name from the color of our wolves. I've had my wolf for 4years now. She has bright cherry red fur not like the rest of my family who are all amber in color. I have yet to find my mate but that's okay because I was focused on school anyway. My family owns a multibillion dollar tech company which was started by my grandfather but then my dad just sky rocketed it called Black Tech inc. Not very catchy but that's our family. My name is Artemis Black. I was born in the middle of a war so that's why my parents named me after the goddess of war but everyone calls me Art for short. I am 21 years old now and I actually can't wait to graduate, go back home and really start my life.

"Don't forget to tell them my name"

"Oh sorry babe my mind has been everywhere today you know I can never forget you"

Did I forget to tell you that my wolf has my same name crazy I know but she like to be called Artemis. At first I thought it was a little weird because everyone I know wolf have their own name so I thought she was playing tricks on me when she first appeared to me. She says our name matches our destiny so she wears it proud. Don't ever shorten her name.

With my last class officially over it was time to celebrate and I knew exactly who to call and what I wanted to do.

**Ring Ring**

"Lelani pick up the phone" I mumble to myself. This girl always has her phone in her hand but never seems to answer when I call.

**Ring Ring**

"Heyyyy Art! I am now walking out of my last class. We did it bestfriend! Time to get drunk!" She yelled through the phone.

I have known Lelani well Lani for short. Ever since the first day of school. We came in as freshman together and was even dormed on the same floor before we convinced our parents to help us get an apartment together. We've been inseparable ever since.

"Bestfriend.." I say excitedly " we have to go out tonight! Get sexy, get fresh and get wasted!"

"You read my mind. Where are you right now?"

"Right behind you"

She turns around and screams at the top of her lungs like she hasn't seen me in ten years instead of this morning. But it's so infectious I end up doing it too.

"Oh you sneaky b****! You usually meet me at home."

"Yeah but it's our last time we will ever have class here. I wanted to take a walk be nostalgic. I just kept walking and here I am" I say laughing.

It's kinda bitter sweet this being the end. Lani will be heading back home to her pack. She is also an Alphas daughter and unmated but her parents aren't really putting to much stress on her. Since she's in school and has been traveling for the past four summers. Unlike her brother who I've heard only a few things about. Lani adores her family, that much you can tell by all the stories of adventures they used to have. But she also feels bad for her brother because of the stress their parents constantly put on him from what she tells me. But they own a huge real estate company that services the one percent (supernaturals and humans alike) and just like me Lani came to school to service her family. So for now I will not be thinking about our inevitable separation but getting as much time in with my best friend before things change forever.

**7 hours later**

Club Moon. Not exactly where I wanted to end up but after shopping, getting our nails and hair done this was the only place Lani could get a reservation. She knows the owner. She says they grew up together and you can tell she has a huge crush on him but ever since her wolf, named Spirit, came to her she has never physically seen him to test the mate bond. He was away with her brother at the werewolf academy for the summer that her wolf came and then she left for college. She always has some internship in a foreign country and when she would come home he wouldn't be there whether it be pack business or the actual real estate business so they haven't seen each other in four years. Like some twisted act of fate was keeping them apart all this time. Well she spoke to him and she will be seeing him tonight. Even if I don't have a mate I want my best friend to find her love.

We've been here for about an hour now and we have been having just the time of our lives. Throwing back drinks, dancing, laughing, just living free. I know Lani has been peaking to see if she sees the owner but she's absolutely still in every moment with me.

" Hey how about another shot" I yell over the music. I am definitely not going to have a voice tomorrow.

" Oh h*** yeah! You must've been looking at my watch because it's officially shot o'clock!" Lani screams. She grabs my hand as we weave threw the crowd to make it to the bar.

" What will it be ladies" The bartender says. I can tell she's Fae and I'm immediately in awe of her beauty when Lani breaks me out of her trance and screams

" TEQUILA!"

After our third shot and we finished the last lime I knew I was officially wasted. Mission accomplished. Lani was preoccupied with the male Fae but I needed to sit down.

"Art you are so drunk I think I'm even a little tipsy." Artemis says

"Artemis I've neverrr been this f***ed upp before"

"Well you said you wanted to celebrate and I thinkkk you did that"

"Oouu an empty seat."I was about to sit down on the barstool when I ended up sitting on someone. Now I know I'm not that drunk right.

"Oh I'm sorryyy. I didn't know yyou was sitting there." I try to say not so drunk like while trying to get off him. He smelled of human almost made me want to vomit.

"It's okay darling. This seat is all nice and warm for you." He said in my ear not letting me go. His breath had the stench of Jack and soda. As I'm attempting to get out of his clutches Lani finally realizes what is happening.

" Hey a****** what are you doing. My friend doesn't want you on her. Get the f*** off her! Now!" Lani demands. Just then another set of hands is around her waist and gripping her tight.

"How about you mind your business little lady and maybe we can have some fun of our own." He sneers from behind. He had to be the that's one holding me friend because they smelled the same. Rotten. They must be the humans that use and abuse uncontrolled substances. Even supernaturals have a bad smell when using but humans smell like zombies decaying again when they use.

As we are using all our strength to get from their disgusting clutches I heard the loudest growl I have ever heard. And time seemed to move differently from that moment.
