Penelope POV "You think a piece of silk makes you a queen, Penelope?" The voice slices through the humid air of the car park. I stop dead on the tarmac. My heels dig into the dark stone just outside the Moon Goddess temple arches. Beside me, Cooper freezes. His entire frame locks up. The air around him drops ten degrees in a split second. "Keep walking, Penelope," Cooper says. His voice is a low, scraping growl. He does not look back at the temple doors. He keeps his eyes fixed straight ahead on the sleek, black bonnet of our pack car. "I asked you a question," the voice barks again. It is Kael. He is standing by the kerb. His red sports car is idling behind him, the engine making a wet, heavy purr against the concrete. I turn my head just enough to see him. He looks ridiculous. H
