Penelope POV "Sign it, Julian." I drop the heavy vellum scroll onto the bedside table. It hits the wood with a dull, hollow thud. The silver lettering on the outside glows with a faint, pulse-like light. Julian does not look at the paper. His eyes stay glued to Hazel, who is currently sobbing into his hospital sleeve. Her cheeks are pink. Her breath is perfectly steady for someone who supposedly had a failing heart five minutes ago. "She is still weak, Penelope," Julian says.
