“I know you’re sharing an important interest, your passion, with me, and I so desperately want to impress you.” They set a time, exactly 8:00. Kimberly could tell Alex was stressed, almost panicky, and she told him setting a time, while seemingly stress inducing would actually give him one less thing to worry over. “You’re on at eight. See? Now you have your deadline for preparing.” Kimberly remembered in college stressing and studying up to the last moment but then, when the tests were passed out and the study materials put away, a perfect calm would pass over her and all the information she needed felt fresh in her mind.
