As I stormed out of the basement I opened the door and saw Jess leaning against the wall wide eyed. As her stare burrowed into me I couldn’t help but snap at her,”What?”.
She glanced at me up and down and took a deep breath,”Is she still alive?,” she asked quietly.
I nodded, not wanting my unsettled feelings to bubble over and she got the brunt of it. A disappointed look crossed her face and I couldn’t help but hiss at her,”What, you wanted me to kill her?.”
Horror brewed in her eyes as she gasped,”Of course not, do not be stupid,” she insisted.
“You should try telling your face that then”, I said, barging past her.
