Need To Hear Your Voice Pt. 2

        Aiden was unphased, “She had to use her healing power, and she took on magic meant to harm physically. She will be unconscious for a…. a period of time.” I barely withheld my growl. I wouldn’t be responsible for Haley being in pain for breaking any type of promise. I could be silent. I would not tell the Hackura she’d been here. King Titus was eerily silent. Finally, He spoke again, “Did you just say my princess….my little girl, will be unconscious and you don’t know for how long? You BETTER say I’m misunderstanding you.” I heard things breaking. Jackson linked, “So the brothers are with him.” Aiden said, “Likely a week, tops.” King Titus’ words were ice when he said, “Bring her home to me.” Aiden sighed, “She’s safer where she is. Only Arion or I can enter.” Arion said, “Oh…. I think he knows that already. Little miss mouthy won’t shut up thing tried to open a portal and cursed PROFUSELY in Latin because she could not.” 

        I heard Duke Zader yell, “BRING ME BACK MY DAUGHTER! SHE IS NOT MOUTHY!” Arion said, “I’d love to bring her back to you. Slight problem. She REFUSES to leave with Haley. I was all for getting rid of her. She annoys me, and she IS mouthy.” King Aiden rolled his eyes. Duke Zader continued, “I want to speak with Miley.” Arion said, “I will arrange that the SECOND I return to them.” King Aiden cleared his throat, “We need to tend to things. Smooth things over here on our end. Haley is safe. I would never let anything happen to her.” The phone disconnected. Jackson said, “Twenty-one of them broke the phone.” I said, “I’m friends with all of them too. I won’t take that bet.” King Aiden sighed, “Anyway, with this interesting turn of events…. you must have met the other reality Haley as I did.” I said, “I was training. She left me a note.” King Aiden grinned, “Adorable. You know you are twice light bound then?” I said, “Yes, King Aiden.” King Aiden said, “We are practically family. Call me Aiden.” Prince Arion said, “Feel free to Prince Arion. I do not currently like you.” I said, “I would not have asked her to do this.” Prince Arion snorted, “I know that you know, you don’t have to ask. She’s been meddling in your affairs for years. She’s also got some VERY powerful charms on that necklace your beta is carrying. I assume it’s yours.” I turned and Caleb handed me my necklace. He linked, “Amber thought you’d want it.” I smiled and linked back, “I really love my sister in laws. I got lucky with all of them.”

        Prince Arion studied it then turned to Aiden, “You cast a charm on it too. Haley is not powerful enough for the power I feel off that necklace.” Now I was surprised. Aiden said, “My little sister asked me to perform a charm she could not. I thought it was cute. What’s the harm? He’s a wolf. Being unable to be charmed by a fairy is not a big deal.” I linked Jackson, “Oh, but it is.” Jackson said, “That’s why it didn’t work. No one’s magic can outdo the King’s. She really does love you brother.” Darrin said, “Did Haley know this would knock her out? Healing our pack members?” Prince Arion and Aiden both answered, “Yes.” At the same time. I argued, “She said she surprises you with the things she can do. You underestimate her often.” Aiden said, “She does surprise us. This is different. She had to exert her healing power on human halves and wolves. Combined with the magic meant to cause physical harm.” Prince Arion started shuffling, “We need to get back to her. Enjoy your evening.” I said, “Wait! Can you take me to her? That wouldn’t be meeting her.” Aiden sighed, “I’m sorry. I’m not even sure how Haley brought multiple people there. I think it’s because she’s pure of heart, and her intentions were to help. I’ll have to look into it.” I said, “I don’t care if it doesn’t work…. I just need to see if she’s ok.” Aiden sighed, “I’m sorry. I cannot do that to my sister. If it didn’t work, you would be thrown back here seriously burned and injured.” I sighed, “Fine. Go make sure she’s ok.” Prince Arion snorted. I growled at him. He looked at me, “I didn’t do this.” I said, “I didn’t either! How the HELL was I supposed to know your dumb ass men would practice their powers on my border? I know you all stay shut in sometimes, but the earth Fae DO NOT! They should’ve known better than to attack anyone in my territory. Use your other portals. If you have one in Louisiana or Missouri…. they are starting to annoy me. Practice on them.” 

        Aiden said, “That’s true Arion. Everyone in Faerie knows his name. For a reason.” Prince Arion said, “I’m not at the rational stage of my feelings yet. I TOLD her to stop, and she ignored me. All because she didn’t want us to be at war with him. If we had actually had to go into battle, she’d probably make sure you and I didn’t get hurt and offer herself to him by kneeling in front of him with her sword on the ground. She’d probably even bare her damn neck. Doesn’t that just sound like some s**t our little sister would do?” I said, “I would NEVER hurt her. Nor would I EVER allow anyone else to hurt her.” Prince Arion smirked, “You know she dated a fairy. They had fun together.” I hissed, “I am aware!” Prince Arion’s grin widened, “Please tell me she wrote about it in one of your letters.” I said, “She didn’t, no.” Prince Arion said, “Damn. That would’ve been hilarious.” Aiden said, “Alpha Max….it wasn’t rogues that killed him, was it?” Prince Arion turned, “You’re joking Aiden.” Aiden tilted his head at me but answered Prince Arion, “No, I’m not brother. It was well known our sister’s wolf did not approve of how Alpha Max treated his Luna. It just happened to be taken care of right before those two weeks our sister was a moody mess. I think she killed Alpha Max and brought his Luna to her wolf to make him happy.” Prince Arion said, “How the HELL would she convince wolves to lie about how Alpha Max truly died?”

        Aiden was silent then said, “She is pure of heart. I have seen many that adore her in the Hackura realm. They would do anything for her.” Prince Arion did a double take, “You think she has the ability to be treasured?” I asked, “What now?” Aiden said, “Yes, I do. Fairies are not prone to that ability. I don’t even think she uses it. Just the longer someone knows her…. they’d instinctually protect her, and fight for her.” Prince Arion said, “That’s good. She better learn how to use it.” Aiden laughed, “She would not.” Prince Arion said, “OF COURSE NOT! YOU TWO KILL ME! I NEED her to use it.” Aiden said, “It’s instinctual Arion. She’s not trying yet people feel that way about her. Some…. are obsessed with her in the Hackura realm.” Prince Arion said, “IF she would learn how to use it that wouldn’t happen!” I growled, “WHO is obsessed with her?” Aiden smiled, “A few Hackura men. Exsis charmed them to stay away from her. They concerned him a great deal. I don’t think that was her power though brother. You know as I do, she’s beautiful. Many want her. The ability to be treasured would only work on someone who didn’t really know her heart. To know her is to know light itself. People will always protect that.” Prince Arion said, “I swear to god…. I need you two to find your selfishness.” Aiden laughed, “I am selfish, brother.” Prince Arion rolled his eyes, “Yeah and I’m a werewolf.” Aiden turned to me, “We will go to our sister. Try not to kill the fairies with you.” He winked and popped away.

        I was itching to shift but I didn’t want to lose my Haley necklace. I needed to hit something. I turned and ran. I ran the dungeons. I stalked in to face the fairies. I had so much battling within me. I was a bad Alpha. I couldn’t have declared war if they killed my pack members. Not knowing it would make Haley a target. I couldn’t go to war knowing it would hurt her. Or she could get hurt. I was blinded by rage about the fact that I couldn’t hear her voice tomorrow. Liam nodded to me. I grabbed one of the fairy’s now in iron chains. He said, “Please! I didn’t mean to hurt them. You know I cannot lie.” I growled, “You tried to use MY PACK MEMBERS FOR EXPERIMENTATION!” The fairy shrank, “No! Just practice!” I hit him square in the jaw. I heard it crack, but that did nothing for my rage. Haley was hurt, and I couldn’t be by her side. I let Thor take over. I linked, “Don’t kill him.” Thor said, “Easy enough.” When I felt a hand on my shoulder I took back over from Thor. I looked around. The other fairies were throwing up. I turned back. Thor had done a number on this one. I linked him, “You cut pieces of his skin off?” Thor said, “He’s not dead, and I’m still pissed off.” I looked at who had stopped me. Surprised to see my dad. I thought for sure it would be Jackson. My dad said, “Let’s take a walk, son.” 

        I grabbed a towel and got what blood off me I could. We walked up and found Joseph, Jaron, Mary, and Michelle waiting. Joseph and Jaron couldn’t let them go and I could smell what happened between them. They’d claimed them. I smiled. Michelle said, “Thank you Alpha. Amber, Tabitha, and Molly came to watch Grant so we could...well.” I said, “You should thank them. They did that on their own.” Michelle smiled, “I meant for what you are doing now, and for coming to our aide so quickly. You...in that field they said that girl was your mate. The one who healed us. The future Luna saved us?” I nodded, “Yes, I’ll have to explain to the group that was with us; however, since you are here. Sixteen years ago we received a note from my mate with information of things that would happen. We were able to verify this information. Our allies Alpha’s and Beta’s know about it. I know many wonder why I’ve been corresponding with Princess Haley Cambridge. That’s why.” Mary smiled, “She’s beautiful, Alpha. I tried to catch her when she fell. She did hit her head, but I softened the fall a bit... I think.” I said, “Thank you. Can you tell me anything else?” Michelle said, “Her brother is an asshole, and Jim Kruthers and Joseph almost got in a fight because Jim was growling and smelling my clothes when we came outside. He ran off with them saying they were his.” Caleb said, “Shut the f**k up.” I snorted. Michelle bared her neck, “Sorry Beta Caleb.” I said, “That’s not what Beta Caleb meant Michelle. We found out at the summit that Jim's mate was there with mine.” Mary smiled, “That blonde girl would match him really well. Gosh, they will have tall kids. OH MY GOSH! Alpha, your kids will be giants!” 

        Michelle said, “I hope we have a pup with her beautiful auburn hair. Grant thinks she’s an angel.” I smiled, “I call her that myself, who could blame Grant for saying the same. I am glad you are all ok.” They nodded and left. I linked Caleb, “Go find Jim.” He nodded and left. My dad and I walked for several miles. He finally turned to me and stopped walking, “You had your brothers very concerned.” I said, “She’s hurt and I’m not there.” My dad and I stood there in silence for several moments. I said, “I would’ve broken my oath today. I couldn’t declare war even if they all died like I should’ve. I would’ve killed those five and it would’ve forced Aiden to meet with me. My heart hurt at the very thought of going to war with them. Of the thought of someone fighting her, that was my ally on my word.” My dad said, “You have a duty and bond to your mate Eric. That transcends all. You are meant to lead with her. She may not be physically by your side, but she has been helping you with the pack the entire time. You guys give each other ideas, and today she prevented war. She gave those two men their families back. Do you even understand the loyalty she has in those warriors now?” I said, “I do.” My dad said, “Those women will tell their friends. She will be beloved before she even arrives. This may not have been ideal, but son…. this will wipe away any tension of having a fairy amongst us. No one would have said anything to her, but there would’ve been tension until they got to know her.” 

        Tears filled my eyes as I touched my necklace, “I want to be with her. I want to hold her. I can’t even f*****g thank her for this, for saving our pack members. I don’t know when she’ll wake up dad. I don’t even know if her fairy brothers can protect her. She’s in the damn demon realm. They want her dad. They’ve wanted her for a decade, and now she’s in their realm. I can’t breathe.” My dad said, “From what Porter was able to dig up about this prophecy…. Arion is the one who could be missing from it. Not Haley. Her brothers do appear to love her, and they need her.” I nodded. I knew what we’d learned. My dad waited until I looked into his eyes, “Let’s head back. You need to get some sleep.” I didn’t think that was possible. We walked inside and I ignored the gazes of everything. I shot my mother a warning glare. One bad word about my mate and her ass would get thrown outside. She wisely said nothing. I stalked up to my room. I picked up my phone and dialed Haley’s. I’d left her countless messages to call me in the hope that her fairy brothers were wrong. She always rose above their expectations. Thor linked me, “They said she hit her head. That probably didn’t help matters.” I hated to admit he was right. Finally when my eyes felt like lead, I landed on my bed. I felt like I was having an out of body experience. I envisioned Haley on the beach. I knew she loved it there. She was talking to me, but I couldn’t hear her. It was very weird. 

        I started to get pulled away from Haley. She panicked and ran after me. I wanted to stay in this weird dream, but voices pulled me out. “Eric!” I sat up. I looked at the clock. I blinked bleary eyed at my brothers, “What?” Jackson said, “It’s twenty after six. You are always first one outside for our run. We were worried.” I said, “I fell asleep twenty minutes ago.” Harold said, “I told you so.” Jackson said, “Go back to sleep. I’ll come wake you up at nine.” I nodded and closed my eyes. I woke up to Jackson shaking me again. I sighed, “That was so weird.” Jackson said, “Logan is here. Covered in blood and asking to see you.” I said, “Send him up.” Logan stalked in a minute later. His eyes were blazing. Jackson had failed to mention he was still clenching a sword in his hand. I said, “Jackson, I’ll be with you guys as soon as we are done.” Jackson looked worried but he left. Logan said, “It had to be you. Haley would’ve stopped the fairies from going to war with anyone if she could stop it, but the only group she’s actively watching over….is werewolves. I know you guys talk on the phone.” I said, “Officially, I don’t think I’m supposed to know it’s her.” Logan said, “I don’t give a s**t about officially or not you know it’s her.” I nodded, “I do. You guys would’ve been my first call if Aiden hadn’t mentioned there were promises in place that Haley couldn’t break. He said it could hurt her, and I won’t do that. After I settled some today, I would’ve called you Logan. I’m not thinking clearly. I’m having an out of body experience. I swear to you...when I fell asleep, I was with Haley on a beach.” I shook myself, “You are different from her other brothers. You’ve always helped us both. They do too, but you know what I mean. I would’ve called you.” 

        Logan sighed, “We can’t get to her in Faerie.” I winced, “She’s not in Faerie.” Logan’s eyes stopped blazing gold, “She’s here? Where?” I said, “She’s not here either. She popped to Aiden and Arion…. they were in the demon realm.” Logan’s eyes fired gold, “WHAT?!” I said, “Aiden seems to believe no one can get to them.” Logan snorted, “I know. We tried. We tried to get a portal open to her and Miley. Miley tried. Uncle Zader, my aunt, my mother, Miley’s mother, dad, Bjourn, and all of us tried together to open a portal to them. It’s why we thought they were in Faerie. Looks like I’m going to find a demon mission we have. I’ll see if I can’t figure out her location without giving away that she’s there.” I felt compelled to say, “I would not have asked this of her.” Logan snorted, “You and I both know…. you do not have to ask. She acts for those she loves.” I smiled, “I know she does. How angry is your father?” Logan frowned, “I’ve never seen him this angry or scared. Haley sent us all her love. It felt like goodbye. We lost it. You have no idea the things we’ve read. The things my dad has been threatened with.” I said, “Bjourn showed me some of the threat letters you receive…. specially from the demons. He said it’s a daily occurrence.” Logan nodded, “My dad made Aiden give him Haley’s fairy uncle’s journals. He had a journal of plans…. specifically for Haley. Abused is a kind word for the things he did to that other version of my sister. My dad worries that it’s not just Fabian. Rings are everywhere amongst the supernatural’s, and he worries…. that Fabian shared this journal. He’s worried there are those in the shadows waiting to snatch her up and do those unspeakable things to her. He’s cracking at the very thought. We swore that would not happen in this reality.” 

        I raised an eyebrow, “What things did Fabian have planned?” Logan cringed, “Sleep deprivation by car battery was a nasty one. Forcing her to throw up if she ate too much. Beating her for looking anyone in the eye. He wanted to see what lemonade did to her.” I growled, “That kills fairies!” Logan said, “Not partial fairies. It hurts them, but it doesn’t kill them. He already had a list of people who wanted a turn to s****l assault her. She was a baby. Barely a week old, and those sick f***s were lining up to rape her. We have Sir Arthur poised to take power here as King of the Vampires when Haley joins you. Bjourn has been sleeping with King Damon’s favorite child on his off periods. He’s convinced her to beg him to come to her side for an exclusive ten year off period fuck.” I snorted, “Sir Arthur and his fairy mate ruling. How will that work?” Logan said, “He’s her second chance mate. Bjourn followed the other reality Haley around before she left. She killed the man that was her aunt’s first mate. Bjourn found plans to kill Faelynn with the mate since she had borne him no children.” I said, “Plans? Fabian plotted to kill his own sister?” Logan nodded, “Yes, in order to tie his life forces to his more powerful sister. He found it easy to manipulate Alania once Fenilton’s was out of the picture. The only person Alania loved as much as Fenilton was Faelynn.” I raised an eyebrow, “Was?” Logan said, “Haley is closer to Faelynn than she is Alania. Alania is jealous” I nodded, “I know. Haley speaks highly of her Aunt Faelynn, Uncle Arthur, and their children Ian and Breanna. I’ve met Ian. Ian came to meet me out of sheer curiosity. I actually liked him.” 

        Logan smiled, “We like him and Breanna. They are very unique, and they have great control. The only time they’ve dropped fang around Haley was when someone was annoying her. They scared them away.” I nodded. Logan said, “Well, I’ll see if I can’t track the fairies in the demon realm.” I nodded. I turned, “Logan, the fairy brothers are looking for some dagger there.” Logan frowned, “A demon dagger?” I nodded. He frowned, “Why?” I shrugged, “No clue.” Logan sighed, “I don’t like the sound of that.” He opened a portal and left. I didn’t like the sound of it either. I walked downstairs.

         I saw Lucas first when I descended down the stairs. To my dismay Dylan was with him. He spotted me and used Lucas as a shield from me. He yelled, “Do not be mad….my partial fairy friends told me what happened here. My crystal ball did not warn me of these events. I even tried the damn magic eight ball! I asked it if you’d kill me for this, and it told me to ask again later. It’s broken.” I said, “Much as I would like to blame you...I am aware it’s not your fault.” Dylan slapped Lucas on the shoulder, “And here you were, a worried Nelly for nothing…. Alpha Fun Sucker clearly needs more sleep from the bag under his eyes. Bastard would still have girls throwing themselves at him. Let’s not forget men too…. he’s suck a prick, but he doesn’t want to kill me. All is well…. let’s go Lucas.” I sighed, “Wait.” Dylan groaned, “So close to the door, and yet so far.” He turned around and saluted me, “What can your MVI do for you?” I said, “I want to know what anyone is saying about where the fairy king and his brother are. It goes without saying you pass along anything they say about Haley.”

        Dylan looked at Caleb. Caleb handed me a memo. I growled, “DYLAN! You are LITERALLY standing in front of me. Just tell me what you know!” Dylan pursed his lips, “The partials say this show of power that Haley displayed…. has made the movement for Haley to come home to Faerie louder. King Titus and his brother Duke Zader slaughtered twenty fairies who were trying to rally partial fairies to their side. They were trying to get them to trick Haley into thinking they were friends and luring her out. Within earshot of King Titus, they called her naive about the world and fairies. They said she is too innocent to be on the lookout for partial fairies betraying her.” My roar shook the windows. Dylan wiped a hand over his face, “Say it don’t spray it Alpha Fun Sucker. What the Hackura and certain full blooded fairies don’t seem to know is…. Aiden is the one who found them all and started their training. They remain loyal to him. There would be very few who would go against him, and he found them at the orders of your other reality princess mate. She told Aiden to find them, and he told them all their histories and how he knew to come for them.” Jackson said, “Arion might be right. Haley and Aiden are the least selfish fairies around.” Dylan cleared his throat, “According to one of my more literary inclined partials….by that I mean he spends an inordinate amount of time in the library. Alpha Fun Sucker’s MVI might have convinced a certain mischievous little lad to go to a restricted section to see if he could me the goodies on this prophecy. Only the ruling house has access, but my partial came through for me. I have retained my MVI title. Bow before me all other informants of Alpha Fun Sucker.”
