Episode 2

The morning sun did nothing to calm Amina’s racing heart. Sleep had abandoned her, replaced by questions that twisted like knives in her mind. The lighthouse… the figure… the cryptic note. Who was behind it all, and why had they singled her out? Her apartment felt too small, too safe, too ordinary. She needed answers. And strangely, despite her fear, the thrill of it pulled her forward. By midday, she found herself standing outside the city’s oldest library, a place she had visited as a child but never really explored. Something about the note, something about “where it all began”, had drawn her here. Inside, the air was cool, dusty, and heavy with forgotten stories. Rows of towering bookshelves stretched into shadowed corners. A faint smell of old paper and waxed wood filled her nose. Amina’s fingers brushed across the spines, stopping at a section on local history. A small envelope peeked out between two books. Her heart skipped. Hands trembling, she opened it. Inside: “Trust no one. Seek the hidden room beneath the lighthouse when night falls again.” And a photograph. A younger version of her mother, standing in front of that same lighthouse, smiling—but with eyes full of secrets. Amina’s mind spun. Her mother… what had she been hiding? Footsteps echoed from behind. She spun around, expecting a stranger—but it was a man. Handsome, dangerous, with eyes that seemed to look right through her. “You’re asking the right questions,” he said, voice low and compelling. “But some answers… are more dangerous than you think.” Amina felt a strange pull toward him, a mixture of fear and something darker, something magnetic. Why did he feel familiar? “Who are you?” she demanded. “Call me Kael,” he said. “And if you want the truth, you’ll follow my lead… even into the shadows.” Her pulse raced. Every instinct screamed to run—but every nerve urged her to follow. Cliffhanger: Kael knows more about her mother than anyone should. Can Amina trust him—or will following him pull her deeper into danger than she could ever imagine?
