Its been a whole week since I saw KB except on face time and today is the day I'm supposed to go back to school but I just don't feel the school vibe,
"You've always been fascinated about going back to school, whats happening to you "
Mum asked being really concerned about me,
" I don't know mum, I just feel under the weather today, I'll go tomorrow"
" you look sick,are you okay,"
she moved closer to me to feel my temperature
"You are burning up already, I'm just gonna call the doctor "
she's already at the door but I stopped her.
" no mum I'll be fine, don't worry about me, I'm not sick"
She turned around real quick
"you know I won't listen to you right"
I sighed heavily and just laid down , I knew I wasn't gonna win the argument anyway, mum just left at that and went to call the doctor.
Within a few minutes the doctor is in my room examining me.
"do you feel any pain or discomfort anywhere " .
the doctor asked while using his thermometer to check me.
"no, I feel just fine I told mum but she insisted on calling you "
He's now looking at my eyes
"But you look sick to me"
I just shrugged off and let the doctor check me
" you have malaria and your fever is so high you need to be rushed to the hospital the ambulance is on its way"
I started feeling dizzy and that was the last thing I remembered before finding myself on the hospital bed.
" oh my dear, you are awake, you really got us worried"
mum said while holding my sides delicately as if I'll break the next minute
" mum, I'm feeling fine, sorry for making you worry"
" you are sick baby, just don't worry yourself the doctors will make you feel better"
I nodded my head to just end this conversation and immediately the door flew open KB and Kayla budged in both of them looking so worried.
"oh Bestie, I didn't know it was this serious"
I gave her a slight smile but my focus was on KB, taking him in, his statue and where he was looking.
mum has a hard look on his face but it became soft the moment he noticed I'm looking at her.
" I'll be right outside if you need me dear"
and mum was already out of sight the moment she finished talking.
KB ran towards my bed so fast and kissed me so hard I could feel the longing in the kiss.
" you really got me worried babe, the moment I heard the news from Kayla"
I just took all of him in and didn't even answer him
"I miss you"
He sighed and took my other hand in his while rubbing my knuckles softly .
"its been hard for me to not see you physically the past week, I don't know how I'll survive when you go back to school"
I raised my hand and rubbed his cheek lightly
" we have to coop one way or another besides from my school to yours is a thirty minutes ride, I'm sure we'll find a way"
" yeah, plus I bought us an apartment so there won't be an issue I guess"
I didn't notice Kayla leaving I only did when I heard the door closing.
" oh my"
"what is it"
"I've made Kayla feel bad, I haven't been giving her my attention the whole time"
He stayed silent for a while before talking
" I'm sure she'll understand you, she cares for you a lot"
I nodded and he took out something from his pocket
" I hope you like this "

he asked indicating to help me put it on and I just nodded

"I'm glad you do"
" could you please excuse us sir, "
I heard the doctor ask Him and he left quietly .
he just checked me but didn't talk and that minute mum came in .
" nurse how is she"
mum asked with a concerned look on his face.
" she's doing fine and will be discharged today itself "
" thank you nurse"
" you'll just clear the bill at the front desk before she can be discharged"
" okay, thanks"
the nurse closed her clipboard and left mum and I inside.
"I'll be right back dear,"
I nodded and took in the surrounding of my hospital room,
"can I"
Kayla asked me the moment she peeped at the door.
"yeah"
She came in and sat on the bed and I looked into her eyes closely I could sense she's been crying .
"hey"
I took her hand in mine
" have you been crying"
She sighed and laughed it off
"no, I'm fine"
I could sense she wasn't crying because of me.
" what has he done"
and with that I was already getting up but she stopped me.
" hey, relax, you are not feeling okay yet "
I rolled my eyes at her and went back to sleep on my back .
" and he hasn't done anything, I'm just sad because of other things "
relief washed over me the moment she told me Bry hasn't done anything wrong.
" oh, thank God, I was ready to move a mountain for your happiness"
she smiled a little bit
"I know you'd kill for me"
We both laughed it off like always
"I'd bury anyone that causes you pain alive"
she laughed even harder
"I know but, I wouldn't want you to get in trouble because of me"
" I don't mind going to jail because of you "
"now you are smiling"
" but hey tell me,what's bothering you "
She stood up walked to the water dispenser poured herself water and came back.
she took a gulp of water then took in a deep breath.
"first, i thought I was loosing you to KB, you haven't been spending time with me these days and I miss you so much, your stupid and silly jokes, you making me feel better when I'm sad and just spending time with you"
my brows are now raised at her confession and somehow I feel like I've been selfish the past couple of weeks.
"you don't have to say anything"
she took another gulp and threw away the cup.
"I'm sorry I made you feel that way, I didn't realize I was being distant plus KB ain't taking me away"
I sighed and wiped off the tears that I didn't realize I had
she moved closer to me
"hey, don't cry, that was not my intention, to make you cry"
I laughed it off
" no, its okay, I made you sad, and I don't want you feeling sad,"
"My second complain, I don't know how to say this because it makes me really emotional "
She was already crying and now I had to comfort her as always .
"come here, its okay, you don't have to tell me if you don't feel like talking"
she just kept crying for a while before getting herself together
"You are so kind Bestie, and very patient with me, I don't know how life would have been if I would have never met you "
I smiled at her and hugged her to give her comfort
"Bry is leaving the country on Friday"
she shocked me at her confession, I even didn't know how to react.
"uh_uh_ w_w_why , i mean "
"hey, hey , relax you are starting to stammer and you are not a stammerer"
I laughed a little bit to ease the tension .
"Uhmm have you talked to him again"
she just nodded her head
" No, I'm still processing everything first"
"what?, girl, you need to use the little time left with him wisely, I don't want you regretting when he's gone"
she stared into space and stood up abruptly
"bye, Bestie, thanks a lot I'll see you, get well soon, I love you "
And she banged the door and she's not on sight
"What's with Kayla,she seems to be in a hurry"
"She's going home to pack her school stuff"
I'm sorry mum for lying to you but I had to.
I'm now left thinking of why KB didn't come back to say goodbye, I kinda feel he's hiding something but I can't decipher what it really is.
"Are you okay, you are spacing out again"
"no, mum, I'm okay"
" I've called an uber , it will be here in a few"
she started packing my things and we were ready to leave when the uber driver called.
"He's here, let's go "
"okay"
Within thirty minutes we were pulling at our house.
This chapter took me some time to write but here it is guys, what do you think of KB leaving the hospital mysteriously without saying goodbye to Kendall .
