"Because….she's my mate."

Both Betas froze at their Alpha's confession.

"S-She's your mate? Logan, are you sure?"

Logan narrowed his eyes at Bart, "Will I joke about such a thing?"

Of course not! Logan is the type of Alpha that insists on true mating. He believes in the unity and strength of true mates and that is why his pack turned out to be one of the strongest.

Ever since his best friends have found their fated mates, he has been eager to find his until...that woman used her evil tricks to make him mark her as his mate.

"Damn, you are not joking."

"So, what will you do?" Jack asked, "How can you explain the pups?"

"I don't know, I don't understand."

He was frustrated and confused about how had he met his mate and got her pregnant. He surely cannot explain that part. His thought was interrupted by the pack healer;

“How is she?” He asked eagerly

“It’s strange,” the healer responded with a frown, “I can see the traces of a broken hymen, but…”

“Wait! What did you just say, a broken hymen?”

“Yes, Alpha. The hymen seems to have been broken during childbirth. The lady is a virgin.”

“So she’s not the mother of the pups,” Bart said

“Not really,” the healer said, “Her body condition proves that she gave birth to the babies herself. Although it was a poor birth; as I guess no one was with her when the babies were born, therefore proper care was not taken making some blood to be clothed in her. Also, she has a tear during the birth which we had to sew up. As for being the children’s mother, I think you’d better ask her when she wakes up.”

Logan was devastated at the thought of his mate suffering alone, without anyone to help her. Ever since he saw her face, he could not help but feel the need to protect her, she felt so fragile in his arms, like she would at the slightest fall.

After he dismissed the healer, Logan delved into his thoughts. From the healer’s explanation, he has never seen his mate before, much less touch her, but how did the babies come about?

“I think, only the Luna can explain this mystery,” Bart concluded and the other two silently agreed.

Because Logan has to do some inspections, he assigned the mates of his Beta and Gamma to keep watch over his woman. 'She’s ours now'; he soothed his wolf, as it was reluctant to leave.

The babies on the other hand were taken to another room where some trusted omegas were instructed to keep watch on them.

Surprisingly, the babies did are well behaved and just stared at them, which surprised the omegas because wolf pups are always known for being fussy.

Logan wanted to rush back to his mate, so he tried to speed up his activities. His friends seem to have the same feeling, but they did not show it. Although the strange girl is their Alpha’s mate, there is still a bone of contention between werewolves and witches. Therefore the fact that they had to leave their mate with a witch, whose power is unknown, scares them.

If they had a choice, they would not allow them to stay with her, but Logan trusts them and they can’t deny that it’s better to let people he can trust stay with her, moreover, if anything happens, they will get the signal faster.

Meanwhile, back in the pack house; where Logan lives, the Omegas were admiring the little ones. They sighed at how cute and quiet they are- or so they thought.

Before they knew it, one of the babies starts to frown, then broke in a whimper. What followed next was a loud shrill cry from the baby.

“No, no, no!” The Omegas panicked, as they tries to pacify her, but the next second, they were at a loss as the other baby joined in.

Unknown to them, the babies’ cries woke their mothers.
