I moved backwards just in case mum decides to do anything crazy.
"Shénme?!(what?!)"mum shouted,pure shock written all over her face. She never speaks Chinese except when she's truly mad and pissed off.
"I'm sorry mother if I disappointed you"I muttered fiddling with the hem of my dress. She laughed blankly.
"I don't believe you. You just cooked up some lie to avoid marrying him right? Listen Mr Edelman. I know my daughter and I can swear right now that she's still a virgin"mum spoke with desperacy.
"I was until three weeks ago! I...I had a night stand with a stranger. I admit I was totally wrong but it's happened alre...."I was still saying when a blinding slap landed on my face. I'm pretty sure her fingers were printed on my cheeks already.
"How dare you Aurora!? You've still got the guts,the nerves to open that stupid mouth of yours and defend your actions?"mother shouted angrily.
"What's all these? I thought you said she was under control? I am very disappointed in you Mrs Tang Xien. Let's go Edward "Mr Edelman shook his head standing up and leaving with his son who refused to utter a single word.
"You see? You've ruined mum's business. This was her final shot at almost being a trillionaire but no! As the badluck that you are,you ruined things. Again!!"Dora yelled as she walked downstairs.
Still holding my cheeks,I felt tears fall on their own will as I stared at mother who looked so speechless and pale.
"Mother I'm sorry. I didn't mean for things to turn out this way"I cried. "Are you some kinda curse sent to me? Huh? Because I just don't get it! Everytime I'm this close to achieving something big you always mess it up!!"mother finally spoke up again.
"Who... who's the father?"she asked as calmly as she could but I couldn't reply. I just played around with my dress in silence.
"I said who the f**k is the father!!"she yelled and I flinched moving backwards. I can't possibly tell them it's the popular Julian,can I?
"I..I don't know mum. It was just a night's stand,no strings attached"I spoke up and mum scoffed laughingly.
"Really? So you think you can just go out,get yourself pregnant and bring more responsibilities and burdens on my shoulders?! Wrong move girl. For the fact that you went out to get yourself pregnant,it means you're fully ready to become a mother and believe me when I say it's over my dead body you'll raise that bastardized child of yours under my roof!!"mother spoke with hatred evident in her voice. I instantly fell on my knees.
"Mum please! You can't throw me out I...I've got nowhere to go"I begged with clasped hands.
"You should have thought of that before getting yourself pregnant. Dora!"mother called and my twin sister replied with a sassy smile on her face.
"Yes mother?"
"Go into her room,pack her bags. She's leaving my house today. I refuse to let you bring disgrace into this home. How many of your mates are married to wealthy men? How many of them are CEOs of their own companies and doing well? But you?? You decided to get pregnant out of wedlock! It won't happen. I won't let you drag me into the mud. You brought this upon yourself didn't you? Take care of the mess you created...ON YOUR OWN!!"she yelled at my face.
"Security!!"she yelled aloud and 3 men ran in. "Ma'am "they bowed.
"Throw this thing out of my house and on no account must I see even her Shadow,10 foots near my gates. Defy me and your heads will be rolling on the streets"mum threatened and they nodded.
I felt miserable. I know I've never been favored by any of the people I call family but still, watching them disown me was so heartbreaking. My tears refused to stop.
"Daddy please! Help me beg mum"I crawled on my knees to dad's direction but he simply looked away indicating he couldn't help.
"Big bro Jay! You can't let mum throw me out, please. I swear I'll switch courses to business. I won't be so useless again in this house. Or better still, I'll apply for part-time jobs to feed myself and child. Just don't let mother kick me out,"I begged amidst wails.
I could see the hesitance in his eyes but he didn't do anything. "You brought this upon yourself Aurora. Deal with it"Jayden muttered and walked out of the house. I barely had hope!
"Twinsie. You can do this to me. Help me beg mum,I promise to be your lapdog for as long as you want"I clasped my hands together, begging.
"As much as I want you to be my slave,I also want you out of this house so badly. You're nothing but a nuisance. Good riddance to bad rubbish, mum"she smirked before dropping my luggage in front of me.
"What are you still doing? Throw her out!!"mum shouted. And that was it. I got thrown out of the home I silently grew up in. I tried not to think about it too much but it hurts so much.
I sat outside the gate banging and screaming for someone to let me in and that's when Dora walked up to me.
"Oh poor thing. You're going through a lot don't you agree? I kinda feel so sorry for you too"she tutted sarcastically.
"Listen to me. You don't deserve anything good. I've been keeping to my promise haven't I? I'll snatch everything you've ever loved away from you. I think it's for your own good that you were thrown out. Who knows? I might just get fed up one day and poison you"she shrugged and laughed in a witchy way.
With tears welled up in my eyes,I watched her walk into the building I once called home as she slammed the huge door shut. So this is it? It's game over for me I guess.
