14 Bitter Sweet

Sabil held my hand and stomped towards the car. As we got in the car he pulled a chunk of my hair. I gasped in shock. "Who were you talking to?" He raved. "What the f**k Sabil? Leave me." I tried to pry his fingers out of my hair. But he pushed my face closer to his by still holding his grip tight. I winced in pain. His nose flared softly and his eyes were irate.  "Who the f**k were you talking to Saanj?" He demanded in the same tone. "What is wrong with you Sabil? I don't know who he was. He was an Indian too so we just got talking." I said while still fighting to pry his fingers. He stared me in the eye for a long moment without saying anything and then released my hair. I exhaled in relief. "What was he talking about?" Sabil asked calmly. We were still in the parking lot.  "What the hell do you care?" I scowled. "Answer me. What the hell was he talking about?" He raised his voice. "Sabil what is wrong with you? Cant I talk to any other man? We belong from the same country and he was just being polite. He asked if I wanted to go out with him." Sabil threw a hostile look at me and I regretted telling him the last part. Before I could realize, he glowered and his fingers curled around my neck. I winced while he pulled me closer to his face. "Fuck.." I screamed in pain. "You are mine. Do you understand?" He bellowed. "What the f**k Sabil? You are hurting me." I yelled. But he didn't unclench his fingers from my neck. "You are mine." He said again in the same harsh tone. "No, I'm not. Who the hell gave you that right?" I said and pushed him. He groaned and abruptly pressed his lips against mine. I tried to push him away but he was like a stone. He kissed me brutally, bit my lips, my tongue. My mouth had started to burn. He then released me slowly. I sat facing the windshield, closed my eyes, and rested my head on the backseat. I could feel his eyes on my face. I was hurt and angry. I didn't want to look at him. He had no right to treat me that way. He had no right to hurt me. He was already married to someone else and he wanted to own me. "I have a lot of enemies Saanj. That guy could have been anyone. A spy perhaps." I heard him say calmly. "I was mostly just scared for you... "Sabil," I interrupted. "If you have enemies, they would have attacked you directly instead of talking to me. I mean I'm new here. They don't even know me." My eyes were still closed. "You have no idea what these people are capable of. They must have seen you with me and sent someone to talk to you. Why would someone just ask you to go out with him? He doesn't even know you. I didn't come to interrupt your chatting with him because I wanted to know what he is telling you. And I have a strong feeling that he was one of the enemies." "Sabil, your talks are making no sense. Please drive. I want to sleep." I said and looked out the window. Sabil started the engine without saying anything further. We were out of the parking lot now and got on the busy road. "By the way, what was that with the saleswoman?" He asked.  "Nothing," I answered plainly. "C'mon, you won't be rude for no reason." I didn't think it was necessary to answer. I kept looking out the window at the vehicles passing by, at the tall buildings, and the beautiful lights of Barcelona. "Sorry." I heard him say, but I chose to ignore it. We were quite the whole ride. Even though I yearned to sneak a look at him just once, I fought hard against the temptation. I was still really pissed and did not want to give any wrong impression to him. We reached his bungalow after about an hour. The guard came running to pull the door open for me. "Thank you," I said as I climbed down from the car. Diego came and greeted me. He and the guard got all the shopping bags out of the car.  I went up the stairs and then into my room. I filled the bathtub with hot water and took off my clothes. Then I added the shower gel and some bath salt into the tub with some lavender essential oil. I tied my hair in a bun and after when the tub was filled, I turned off the faucet and got into the tub. The hot water soothed my body. I relaxed in the tub by resting my head against the soft leather headrest. I sighed as the hot water was working to ease the pain in my toes and heels. My eyes were closed as I was enjoying the quiet bath when I heard the doorknob twist. I knew it was him and I grimaced to myself in exasperation. This man won't let me be in peace. "Saanj?" He called. I didn't answer. I heard his footsteps ascend towards the bathroom. I heard the glass door getting pushed open. My eyes were ahead at the tall tinted window. I could only see the darkness from here. No mountains, no moon, no roads, no houses were visible. I felt his frame sitting on the edge on the tub. "Hey." He said. I then looked at him. He had changed into a white t-shirt and black track pants. His bronze hair was a little messy and that perfectly suited his godly features. His deep green eyes were smooth as he stared at me. His white skin was glowing brightly under the yellow lights. I was subconsciously drooling. I looked at the window again without responding. "Listen I'm sorry." He said. "You pulled my hair and choked me Sabil. How can you expect me to forgive you?" I asked without looking at him. I heard him sigh. "I know what I did is unforgivable. But I was really scared. I understood that he was Indian. I was worried that you might add him in your social media accounts and then meet him again in India... I ju..." "So what?" I interrupted while turning my face towards him. "So what if I meet him again Sabil? What rights do you have to stop me? Aren't you already married?" "Its too complicated Saanj." He said innocently. "That doesn't matter. What matters is that you are married and I am not your girlfriend. If not today then tomorrow I might meet someone and fall in love..." Sabil closed his eyes turned his head towards his right and sighed. "You can't control me." I continued. "You can't tell me what to do. Stop acting like you own me." "I know." He nodded without meeting my eyes. "But at that moment I had a fear of losing you." "I'm not yours to lose," I said acidly. He looked at me. His face was gloomy. "It's not only about that Saanj. He could have been a nemesis. He could have been spying on me. I should have let you go back to India today. I made a mistake." That didn't frighten me. Most of his talks sounded like a bluff to me. Like he was making it up to cover up for his insecurities. I rolled my eyes at him. "Sabil, that man had an Indian accent. He was from India and there is no way he was a spy or something." "You don't know these people Saanj. If they are tracking me and if they've seen you with me then it's obvious that they know you are an Indian. They are capable of doing anything. Play any game to make me weak. They can send an Indian or anyone from this world to make them your friend, just so they can harm you and lure me out." His face was serious. His eyes were sharp on mine. For a moment I believed him. "Who are these people?" I asked without looking away from him. "Its complicated Saanj. Just know that when I told you that the guns were only for protection and nothing else, it was a lie. You were new and I didn't want to give you every detail of my life and my business. I was into some illegal shit." "What?" My eyes were wide. "Yes but its only a matter of time before I get rid of these people who still want to drag me into that dark world again," Sabil said bleakly. "Your logistics business? Is that illegal too?" I asked. His lip pulled up into a smirk as he shook his head. "No. I have built that company with great efforts and hard work." "Oh!" "Would you mind if I joined you in the tub?" He asked while still smirking. "I'm almost done. You can relax in the tub now." I was about to get up when Sabil placed his hand on my shoulder. "Saanj please." His voice was so gloomy that I couldn't deny it. I just nodded and Sabil rose on his toes and took off his clothes. I looked at his lean yet muscular body from head to toe. It was hard to be mad at him when he looked like a walking Adonis. He got inside the tub and sat across me. He then smiled my favourite smile. I couldn't help but smile back.
