I tried to kill my time by watching a movie on Netflix. It was hard not to think about him. I couldn't understand the movie because I was subconsciously thinking about Sabil. Thinking about whatever happened in the morning and the way he kissed my forehead after the fight. He felt bad about lashing out at me as much as I felt bad about hurting him. I wondered if he was thinking about me right now. If he was distracted too.
After the movie got over I started watching a series. At least that will take hours to finish. I tried my best to concentrate only on the series. At around 01 PM, I got a call on the extension. Isla asked what I wanted to have for lunch. I told her I'll come to the kitchen. I paused the series and went downstairs.
I'd seen Isla coming from a room behind the dining area. That was maybe the kitchen. I walked towards the dining area and kept walking straight and then took a left. The wide white door was closed but wasn't locked. I pushed and entered inside and saw the posh interior that looked more like a hotel's kitchen. So many fancy utensils, six gas burners on the countertop, pans, ladles, and a wide fridge across the kitchen. The chef, in a grey uniform and a white apron around his body, was sitting on a table near the fridge. As he saw me, he rose from the table and greeted me with a smile. I greeted back.
"Hi, what's your name?" I asked.
"My name is Mario." He said with an accent.
"Mr Mario, I must say you make delicious food." I complimented.
He bowed his head. "Gracias Señorita. What would you like to have for lunch today?"
"What is available?"
"Almost everything. If not, Diego will bring it." He said.
I nodded and opened the fridge. There were so many things inside that it was hard to check each packet. It must be impossible to keep a track of everything with the expiry dates. I could manage to pick a few packets and see. There were hams, varieties of fish, chicken nuggets, lamb steak, etc. I opened the second door and there were cartons of fresh juices, different sauces, vegetables, etc.
I heard the door open behind. I turned to look. Isla came in with a man who wore a similar uniform. The same person who had taken away my bags from the living room yesterday. I assumed he was Diego.
"Señorita he is Diego." Isla introduced.
"Buenos Tardes." Diego greeted me with a smile.
"Does that mean Good Afternoon?" I asked with a smile.
All three of them laughed softly.
"Sí Señorita." Diego said.
"Good Afternoon then. Do you all live here?" I asked.
"Señor hired us on a contract. We are here only for four days. Then we'll go back home and go to some other place, I mean where ever our agency sends us." Isla answered.
"Oh!" I said. That explained their similar uniforms.
"Señorita, have you decided what you want to eat?" Isla asked with a smile.
"Ummm... Can you make a seafood platter for me?" I asked Mario.
"Por supuesto. I mean of course Señorita. It'll be ready in one hour." He replied.
"Okay! Thank you." I smiled. "Isla? Do you mind showing me to the guest bedroom?"
"Sure."
I smiled at Mario and Diego and left with Isla. She walked past the stairs and I followed. There were three rooms on the right side of the stairs. The guest bedroom was towards the very left, almost behind the stairs. We went in and I noticed this room was kind of smaller. It had Italian Marble too, a wooden wardrobe which was smaller than the one in my room, and large windows. I slid the beige drapes open and saw a large swimming pool outside.
'Woah..!!' My eyes were wide. The view from this window was terrific. The tall dark mountains were visible at the far distance and no buildings around. There were six brown chaise lounge chairs around the swimming pool and plants around the poolscape.
I said Thank you to Isla and she left. I noticed a medium-sized white fridge near the window. I opened the fridge and there must be at least a hundred beer pints of different brands. I decided to drink later. I took a house tour by myself. Isla had said the room on the right corner was allotted to her. Mario and Diego lived in a small room that was beside the swimming pool. I didn't go to the room where Isla was staying.
I went to the next guest bedroom. It looked similar to the other room. This room's window had the view of the swimming pool and the mountains too. I wondered what view did my room have. I hadn't even bothered to move the drapes and see. I moved around in the living area looking at the white lamps and the paintings. Everything was so neat and royal.
By now I'd started to get the aroma of the fish. I went to the guest bedroom and took a pint of beer and went outside the main door. I walked towards the backside of the bungalow through the lawn. I noticed the guards standing at the gate, the elegant water fountain, and the beautiful plants and grass all around the landscape. I kept walking and reached the swimming pool. Sabil had said this was a spare bungalow. This means no one really stayed here and yet the pool was so clean. Not even a single leaf in the water or dust around on the tiles. The staff must have cleaned it.
I dipped my legs in the cold water of the pool. My foot started to sting and I realized my toes and heels were still in pain. But I still kept my foot under the water. After a while, the water felt fine and the pain was less now. I opened the beer pint and sipped while looking around. I played music on my phone and enjoyed a quiet moment.
After about fifteen minutes my phone rang. I checked the screen, Sabil was calling. I found myself blushing while looking at his name.
"Hey!" I answered.
"Hola Bella. Please tell me you are bored."
"Not at all. Why?" I asked.
"Because I am not around to fight with." He said and chuckled.
I snorted. "Well, I must admit that it's quite peaceful without you and I'm enjoying my own company."
"I feel guilty that a beautiful girl like you has to enjoy her own company instead of doing something adventures. I promise I'm going to make your day worth tomorrow." He cooed like he was speaking with a child.
"I really can't wait." I returned the enthusiasm.
He chuckled. "What are you up to now? Have you eaten?"
"Mario is cooking. I'm chilling at your swimming pool with a pint of beer."
"Woah..!! No wonder you're enjoying your own company. What have you asked him to cook?"
"Seafood platter," I said, a bit smug.
"Sounds delicious."
"Yes. I hope you had your lunch."
"I'll have in a while. The meeting just got over but there is another meeting in an hour. I'll see you in the evening okay?" There was a sound of chatter around him.
I sighed. I wanted to keep talking to him.
"Okay!" I whispered.
We hung up and I continued listening to the music.
I heard Isla's voice. I looked up at her and paused the music.
"Señorita food is ready." She said.
"Okay! Do you mind getting it upstairs in my room?"
"Sure." She said and left.
I took my foot out and took the empty beer pint inside. I threw it in the trash can beside the fridge of the guest bedroom and took another pint from the fridge and went upstairs to my room.
The food was kept on the study table. My eyes gleamed as I looked at the beautiful sophisticated platting. Mario was a genius and so professional.
There were large Shrimps, Mussels, Crab Meat, 8 steaks of Lobster Meat, Two Lobster Claws, And Roasted Salmon. There was Tarragon Sauce in the middle with chopped Shallots and Dragon Leaves. A cup of melted butter and garlic sat beside the plate for the dressing. It looked just like the ones in the fancy restaurants.
I opened the large white drapes from the window and saw the breathtaking view of the dark mountains. From here I could see the busy road that led towards the city and a few small row houses at a distance.
I then kept the beer pint beside the bed on the telephone table and kept the food plate on the bed and added the melted butter garlic on the top. I resumed the series and ate while watching. Each bite made me moan. The fish was so orgasmic. I had to admit it was better than what I had eaten in the restaurants. My room was filled with the aroma. My stomach was so full of fishes, the giant Lobster Claws, and the beer that I felt my stomach bulge out again. For someone like me who never puts on weight, it was a big deal. If I lived with Sabil for more days, he'd definitely make me rotund and I'd lose my job.
