We spent weeks afterwards cleaning up the mess those two had left behind. That’s when we found out we’d only touched the tip of the iceberg. The filth ran far and wide and by the time we’d scraped the bottom of the barrel we’d unearthed names of dignitaries and high ranking businessmen and women not only here but abroad.
The most horrific thing I think was how far back the s**t had gone. We’re talking a century or more here. The fuckery read like a Victorian novel, maybe something people would’ve read to their kids to put fear in them and keep them in line.
Only this s**t wasn’t a story, this was real. Pages upon pages of documented records of the atrocities one class had perpetrated on another for almost two hundred years. At least that’s as far back as we were able to go.
