The entire room was engulfed with darkness which was darker than moonless midnight. A few candles flickered in the farthest corners of the room, hardly providing any light to the room. Broken pieces of the emperor's favourite glass jar were lying on the ground accompanied by various broken furniture which clearly showed that the precious materials were deliberately broken by him- more like they were being forcefully thrown to vent out anger. The word which was most suitable to describe the room was - it was disastrous. Alastair was sitting on a royal couch, resting his back against the soft cushion.
