Chapter 21

1905 Words

I run for the elevator, but before I can reach it, Luke steps out from the side, grabs my hand, and pulls me toward the washroom. “You, let me go.” I struggle against him. “Let's make a deal,” he says instead, but I yank my hand out of his grasp and counter, “I would rather die than accept your deal. Not after the way you tried to condemn me in front of my brother!” “I know who is the culprit behind the leak, and if you let me f**k you…” Slap! "You're nuts. And I don't need your damn help.” I turn and walk back to the elevator. He even left a bruise on my wrist. The elevator doors chime open, and I step in. “Why did things suddenly take a wrong turn?” I murmur. The weight of Brother's gaze clings to me, his warning echoing like thunder in my mind: If you’re lying, I’ll find out.
