Bruce Hill sat at his desk early the next morning, his tie loosened and sleeves rolled up. The company’s quarterly projections glowed on his tablet, but his mind was elsewhere. Sharon. He couldn’t stop thinking about her,her wit, her drive, and the way she seemed to light up even the dullest boardroom meeting. A knock at the door pulled him back to reality. "Come in," he called, straightening his posture. It was his assistant, Claire, holding a fresh stack of reports. "Your 10 a.m. meeting has been moved to 11," she informed him, placing the documents on his desk. Bruce nodded, barely listening. "Thanks, Claire." Claire hesitated for a moment. "Is everything okay, Mr. Hill? You seem... distracted." Bruce waved her off with a small smile. "Just a lot on my mind. Nothing I can’t handle.
