Sharon sat in her car, gripping the steering wheel so hard her knuckles turned white. The message on her phone glared back at her like an unspoken threat. "You’re playing a dangerous game. Be ready for the consequences." A shiver ran down her spine. She glanced around the parking garage, half expecting someone to step out of the shadows. But the place was deserted. She exhaled sharply, shaking her head. "Get it together, Sharon," she muttered to herself. But the unease lingered as she started the car and drove off. Back in her apartment, Sharon paced the living room, replaying the events of the day in her mind. Russell's warning in the parking garage had been unsettling, but it wasn’t enough to deter her plans. If anything, it was a reminder of just how precarious her situation was.
