Chapter 21

I woke up earlier than usual today. Although I didn't want to leave Tamara just yet , I couldn't lie that I was excited to go back to work. Especially after last night.

I really missed you.

Those words kept replaying in my mind since he said them .

I missed him too. So much.

I dressed in a black dress and paired it with black heels. I checked up on Tammy and gave her a kiss on her forehead with a note by her.

I grabbed my brown jacket and left for the office.

I got to the office and rushed to Suzie with my arms wide open. I had missed her as well in these 3 days. "How are you dear girl? How's your sister ? I hope you're both okay."

"We're good. Thanks Suzie. I've missed you so much! How was work without me? I bet you were bored out of this world! Right?" I said judging her a little and smiling cheekily.

She gave me a heartily laugh and it warmed my heart.. not the way Nick's did but it made me happy .

"It was horrible! I did miss you a lot.. I'm so happy you're back." 

" I'll see you during lunch okay? I should go before Hulk starts breathing on my neck." I said smiling.

"Oh! He didn't tell you? You have to go over to his house.. he has an interview today and it's at his house.. I'll give you the address right now." She said and wrote it on a paper.

Interview? What interview? Why wasn't I aware of this? 

I took the paper with the address and thanked her as I went out of the building . I told the Uber driver the address and soon we were on our way. I couldn't help but be excited to see him. 

I looked at my outfit again.. I hope he likes it..

We soon arrived . It wasn't a long drive.. about 15 minutes. I was in awe at how huge the house was.

This is a freaking mansion ! If I thought his house in Italy would surprise me.. I was clearly wrong.

I got in and thankfully Trey was outside so the security guards didn't need to check me again. I sent him a grateful smile and he just nodded. 

I got into the mansion and I was tempted to take off my shoes so I wouldn't dirty his expensive floors. The house was even more beautiful on the inside. There was a piano just underneath the staircase and everything was so beautiful.

There were a few people walking past me without paying any attention to me. Woah. Am I that invisible?

I scanned the area for any familiar face and unfortunately, the only face I saw was the b***h. Alyssa.

What are the odds? She was screaming orders around looking like she owned the house. 

What was she doing here anyway?

It's her boyfriend's house..

A sudden feeling enveloped me. It wasn't jealousy.. it was..

Jealousy.

Ugh! Shut up!

"Can't you do anything right you piece of s**t!?! I asked for orange juice and not apple! Do your damn job or I'll have your head served in a platter you green witch!"

I looked at the scared maid and felt pitiful. She scurried off to get her order and I rolled my eyes. Although she hadn't noticed me yet, I had to admit ..she looked beautiful.

Her skin was glowing and she looked like she was headed to the runway . 

" Why the f**k are you yelling Alyssa? I told you I hate.." the voice said and stopped talking when he noticed me. He looked at me from head to toe and smiled a little. He lost the smile quickly though. Alyssa looked in his direction and scowled .

Nice to see you too! Idiota.

"Ariane." He almost whispered as he walked towards me. I couldn't take my eyes off him. He looked so handsome in the white shirt that hugged his arms perfectly and jeans that hung low.

"Where the hell are you going to Nicholas?!" She screeched. And I was dying to roll my eyes

He looked so handsome..he even made me lose my breath. He had this intense stare that made me feel so self conscious. I looked down so I wouldn't meet his eyes. He came over to me and gave me a hug and I was lost in his scent. 

It was so manly and sexy. It suited him so well. I hugged him back and I almost sighed in bliss because of the feeling. As usual, the feeling was exhilarating. I closed my eyes and as soon as I opened them.. I saw Alyssa looking mad as hell.

I quickly detached myself from him and he cleared his throat uncomfortably while scratching his head.

I couldn't help but smile.. he looked so cute when he was embarrassed.

" I-I'm sorry ..um.. how are you?" He said quietly..

" I'm good Mr. DeMorgane. Thanks for asking . I didn't know about this interview.. is there anything I can do to help?" I asked him professionally and I saw how his expression changed.

"Nick! What the hell are you doing there? Can you go get dressed and let your assistant do her goddamn job! Red is going to be here in a bit and he hates waiting !" The b***h screamed and he turned over to face her with a murderous look.

" Stop giving me that look! We don't have all day. Chop chop!" She added . I saw his clenched fists and I touched them he turned over to me and a gave him a small smile. He relaxed a little.

" I'll talk to you later okay?A guy, Red Kerrington will be here soon.. he's from PopMotif and he'll be doing the interview and the photo shoot. I need you to keep him company while I get ready Okay? I should go before I do something I'll regret.." He said and walked away towards the stairs without sparing her a glance even when she tried touching him. 

I couldn't hide my smile. I tried really. I did .

" You little mouse! What the hell are you doing here? Are you trying to f**k my man? Do you really think he'll leave me for you? You're hella wrong missy! He's mine! His body, his d**k ,his money.. is all mine! So stay in your f*****g lane before I run you over like a tiny insect!" She yelled looking like Hades.

"Does your ass ever get jealous of the s**t that comes out your mouth?" I asked raising my brow and smiling sweetly. She looked shocked to say the least and her mouth was wide.

" Close your mouth Miss..there's gnats around" I said and I walked past her with a smile on my face.

Woah Ari! That was awesome! Didn't know you had it in you.

Soon after,  a guy came in named Red Kerrington . He was a handsome man with blonde hair. He looked good although not as good as Nick on his bad day. 

Really Ari?

I guess he was the photographer considering the large camera he was holding . He also had a fleet of people following him with props and accessories.

" Hi, I'm Arianna. Can I help you with something?" I smiled to him giving him my hand.

"How about your number beautiful?" He said holding my hand to his mouth and kissed it. It was repulsive and I quickly withdrew my hand.

"Red! Thank goodness you're here, c'mon..let's go sit by the pool.." Alyssa strutted in saying 

" Uh.. yeah.. I'd like to talk to Ari here for a bit.. do you mind?" He barely glanced at her as he kept his eyes on me.

" Yes I mind! Now follow me to the pool so we could discuss!" She said gritting her teeth and he gave her an amused smile as he winked at me and followed her. They went to the pool and she looked as red as my lipstick.

I roamed around and found the kitchen and decided to make snacks for everyone. It was a huge kitchen and his fridge was stocked with everything. I made sandwiches and I was cutting them into small shapes when someone spoke "What are you doin?" He said in that deep velvety voice of his and I shrieked with the knife dropping from my hand.

"You scared me!" I exclaimed with a frown and a hand on my chest. He came over to me chuckling richly.

Sounds so sexy!

He then looked down and frowned . I looked down as well and noticed the blood oozing out of my finger. Oh! I didn't even notice it.

He's such a distraction!

"s**t. You hurt yourself. You shouldn't have." He said holding my hand and taking me to the sink. He opened the tap and placed my finger under . The cold water made me flinch but he held me still. He shut the tap and I glanced up at him giving him a grateful smile.

"T-Thank you.." I stuttered for a reason I was unaware of. He looked into my eyes and placed my finger in his mouth and sucked it. While staring straight into my eyes.

Okay I felt that . The heat that went through out my body was intense. The feeling was amazing..almost made me want to grab him and kiss him. He made me feel things.. things I shouldn't .. it's just business.

Strictly business!

But I couldn't take myself away from his presence. I was stuck and planted where I was.

He finally took my finger out of his mouth and kissed it lightly. "All good. I'll get a bandaid for you later. And in the meantime..." he pulled me out of the kitchen still holding my hand "Stay out of the kitchen and away from sharp things alright? Do I need to make things kid-friendly?" He asked with a small smile and I smacked him lightly on the arm.

"Whatever dad" i said rolling my eyes. And I saw how his eyes darkened.

"Keep doing that and you'll be punished babe. Hold on one second." He said as he rushed to get a bandaid.

Gosh! He's so handsome and funny! Sexy too.. I can't .. I literally can't resist him.

I went to the huge window and looked towards the pool. I noticed how Red and Alyssa spoke animatedly and quite .. intimately..

Probably just my eyes though.

Her leg was on his lap and he kept rubbing her thigh and they both had huge smiles on their faces. 

Mind your business missy!

Soon enough , Nick came with the bandaid and put it on my bruised finger gently and tenderly. He kissed it again and smiled warmly and I returned it .

He looked out the window and noticed what I saw and raised his brows.

What was he thinking? 

Was he jealous? He didn't seem or look jealous though and I was so happy.He didn't even look angry. He just looked confused. 

" Do I look good?" He asked with a confident smile and I raised my brows at him.

Doesn't he know he's perfect already ? No need blowing up his Canada-size ego. But I looked at him one more time from head to toe and shook my head " Not bad.." I said dryly and he dropped the smile immediately.

I couldn't help but burst into a fit of laughter .I laughed so hard, my ribs hurt. " I'm kidding! You look as handsome as ever" I said and blushed a little. I'm not used to complimenting men .. it was weird.

He smiled again and shook his head "You'll pay for that cara." He said as he walked past me and then stopped to whisper in my ear. " I really am f*****g handsome huh? Thank you though baby" he whispered flirtatiously in my ear and walked away to the scene. I followed him out and took a seat not too far from them.

I couldn't hold my breath! His voice was hunting me..damn you Mr.Perfect!

Red and Alyssa detached themselves as quick as possible and Alyssa looked flushed while Red just got his camera and acted like nothing happened.

Suspicious.

He gave Red a handshake and sat down on the seat by Alyssa. He took some pictures of the couple and a lady came over with a book and a pen. Nick had his arms wrapped around her and they looked so in love.

And that's when the jealousy kicked in. Like a sledgehammer.. it really hit me. I didn't like it. She turned to me and gave me a smirk and I was so tempted to rush over to her and pull her hair out.

Feisty much? Chill babe. He's not yours..

She faced Red again and continued answering the questions that were asked. My eyes were trained on Nick the whole time and how he would answer the questions eloquently. Although they were all about his relationship with Alyssa.. I still listened to him eagerly.

He's so smart and speaks so well. And I love how a bit of his Italian accent comes out when he's so concentrated on something he's talking about . He probably felt my stare and turned to me and I was too slow to look away. He winked at me and smiled until Alyssa nudged him and he faced Red again. 

Butterflies! Just one look and my heart flutters? This is so unfair! And unhealthy too!

About 30 minutes later, they were done with the interview and it was now time for the photo shoot.

I brought the snacks I had made and shared them to all the workers. They were all happy and it made me happy as well.

" Can I have one too?" I heard Red ask and I almost rolled my eyes. "Sure.." I said smiling and he grabbed a sandwich and took a bite.

" Amazing. Literally the best!"

" Oh, thank you.." I said with a small smile.

"Seriously. Can I hire you to be my personal chef? This is really good." He said looking genuine. 

" Thanks for the offer, but I kinda like my job.."

" Oh.. you're Nick's PA right? I could triple the price.. come work for me.." he said holding my hands and kissing them again like he did when we first met.

I didn't tell him I was Nick's PA. No one just assumes that. Speaking of Nick, he was at a corner dressing up.I withdrew my hand politely and asked him how he knew

"Alyssa told me. But that's not really important is it? What was I saying again?, oh come work for me. Please.." he said taking my hands into his again and at that very moment , Nick looked up at me and then down at his hands that were on mine.

"Uh..I-I will think about ..." I was interrupted when someone yelled

"Ariane! My water. Right now!" Nick thundered and I almost dropped the tray. He looked livid..

" I - I should go.." I said turning to get what Nick needed.

" You're not his lap dog that does whatever he wants . I bet he doesn't even pay you right or treat you right either.."

I turned to him irritated and I immediately felt the need to defend Nick. My employer and the guy I've been pain to trick and break his heart.

" With all due respect, Mr Kerrington.. you know nothing about Nick. He's a great man and pays excellently well.. probably more than that expensive camera you're holding. And he treats me so well..but that's not your business. My boss needs me , so I'll be leaving your sorry ass. Excuse me." I said and strutted to get a bottle of water. I took it to Nick who had his fists clenched and his jaw was twitching .

He looked like he wanted to punch the living daylights out of Red.

" I-.." I started but he cut me off with a sharp look.

" I don't want you talking to him. Or anywhere near him ." He said firmly taking the bottle of water from me.

"But you said-" he cut me off again

" I changed my f*****g mind. Don't breathe a word to him. I mean it." He said and walked away with me looking like a fool.

I felt like smacking myself silly.

Ughh Nick!
