There was a knock at the door. It was polite… almost too gentle for a tap. Arthur knew who it was, yet didn't stand up from his chair. He was too busy dying slowly in his office chair, wondering how his life had turned into a tragic soap opera with memes. The door opened anyway. “Come in,” he mumbled, voice hoarse from yelling at his own laptop. The door creaked open, and two people walked in. “Oh, wait. You are already in.” He said dryly. There was Maeve, in her usual blazer that she somehow made look flirty, and Nathan, who wore sunglasses indoors for reasons no one had ever successfully explained.
