Chapter 7

The city lights blurred past the car windows as the twins rushed Nora away from the mansion, and she knew her resistance was starting to crumble. "Another safe house?" Nora asked from the back seat. "How many of these do you two own?" Blake drove fast, his hands tight on the wheel. "This one is a private penthouse. No one outside the family knows about it. You will be safer there." Drew turned from the passenger seat and gave her a reassuring smile. "We cannot risk another attack like last night. Let us take care of you." Nora crossed her arms. "I keep telling you I can take care of myself. But fine. Take me to this penthouse. Then we talk business." They arrived at a sleek skyscraper and took a private elevator straight to the top floor. The penthouse was luxurious with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city. "Wow," Nora said as she stepped inside. "This is beautiful. But it still feels like a cage." Blake locked the door behind them. "It is protection, not a cage. Sit down. We need to talk." Drew poured three glasses of wine and handed her one. "Drink. You have been through a lot. The walls you built are cracking. We can all feel it." Nora took a sip and sat on the large couch. "Maybe they are. But that does not mean I am giving in to this bond. Tell me about the real business. The criminal side. I need to know what I am mixed up in." Blake sat across from her. "We run Kane Global legally. Real estate, tech, imports. But underneath that we control the underworld. Arms deals, protection rackets, and pack alliances. We keep order so chaos does not take over." Drew sat right next to her, his thigh pressing against hers. "We are good at it. People fear us but they also respect us. The bond with you makes us even stronger. You felt it during the fight." Nora felt heat rising between them. "I felt something. But I am still angry about how you claimed me five years ago." Blake watched her closely. "Angry but drawn to us. Stop fighting the pull, Nora. It is exhausting you." Drew brushed his fingers along her arm. "Let us show you how good it can be. No pressure. Just us." Nora's breath quickened. "This is dangerous. I should not want this." Drew leaned in and kissed her neck softly. "But you do. Say it." Blake stood up and moved closer. "Tell us what you need." Nora moaned softly as Drew's kisses grew bolder. "I need to feel in control for once." Blake pulled her up from the couch. "Then take control. We are right here." She kissed Blake first, hard and demanding. Drew pressed against her back, his hands sliding under her shirt. "You two are impossible," Nora whispered between kisses. Drew chuckled against her skin. "Impossible to resist. Feel how much we want you." They moved to the bedroom together. Clothes came off quickly as the bond flared hot between them. Blake laid her on the bed. "Look at you. So beautiful. So ours." Nora pulled him down. "Less talking. Show me." Drew kissed her deeply while Blake explored her body with his hands and mouth. "Tell us what feels good," Drew said. "Both of you," Nora gasped. "I want both of you." Blake positioned himself first. "Like this?" "Yes," Nora cried out as he entered her. "Deeper." Drew watched with hungry eyes. "She takes you so well. My turn soon." They took turns and then together, moving in rhythm that left Nora shaking with pleasure. Words spilled out in the heat. Blake groaned, "So tight. So perfect for us." Drew added, "Let go, Nora. We have you." Nora reached her peak with a loud moan. "I cannot fight this anymore." Afterward they lay tangled together. Nora traced patterns on Blake's chest. "That was intense. The bond makes everything stronger." Drew kissed her shoulder. "It does. Now you understand why we cannot let you go." Blake held her close. "There is more to the business. We have a big deal tonight. Weapons shipment to a friendly pack. It will strengthen our position." Nora sat up. "Take me with you. I want to see how you run things." Drew hesitated. "It could be dangerous." "I fought beside you last night," Nora said firmly. "I can handle it." Blake nodded. "Fine. But stay close." They dressed and headed out in a black car to an old warehouse by the river. Blake and Drew met with several serious looking men. "The shipment is ready," Blake said. "Payment on delivery." One man checked his phone. "Problem. Our rivals hit the truck. The deal is compromised." Drew cursed. "Sabotage. Lang must be behind this." Gunshots rang out suddenly. Enemies poured into the warehouse. "Get down," Blake shouted, pulling Nora behind crates. Nora grabbed a loose metal pipe. "We need to move. There is a back exit." Drew fired back. "She is right. Cover us, Blake." They ran through the warehouse while bullets flew. Nora spotted a side door. "This way. I saw a car outside." Blake kicked the door open. "Good eye." They jumped into a waiting SUV. Drew drove while Blake shot from the window. "Two cars behind us," Nora said, looking in the mirror. "Take the next left. There is construction. We can lose them in the alleys." Drew swerved left. "Smart thinking." Blake reloaded. "She is learning fast." Nora pointed ahead. "Cut through that parking garage. It connects to the highway." The chase grew intense. Cars swerved and horns blared. Nora stayed calm and gave directions. "Right here. Now floor it," she said. Drew laughed. "You are a natural at this." They finally lost the last pursuer and sped back toward the penthouse. Blake turned to her in the back seat. "You saved us back there. Your quick thinking made the difference." Drew glanced at her in the mirror. "Our mate is strong. I knew it." Nora leaned back, breathing hard but feeling alive. "I am starting to see how this world works. But I am still not sure where I fit." Blake reached back and squeezed her hand. "Right between us. Where you belong." The night showed Nora her own strength and pulled her deeper into the twins world. The emotional walls were cracking faster than she expected, and part of her was no longer sure she wanted to rebuild them.
