FIONA The warmth slant of sunlight across my face was what brought me back to life. Slowly, I blinked open my eyes to the slight of curtains billowing softly in the morning breeze. I closed my eyes again. The sheets behind my back and around my legs were feather soft and smelt pleasantly of vanilla and cinnamon. Still foggy, I tried to piece together the events of how I must have gotten back to my room. The last thing I remember clearly was the doctor tending to my wrist and Ethan holding me through the process.
