The corridors of the Sunglow court had not yet become as familiar to me as the back of my hand but I had a fair idea of where everything was. I walked, more cautiously this time, past the windows that spilled afternoon light across polished stone, past the servants and the guards and courtiers whose bows and greetings blurred into nothing more than shapes in my periphery. The Sunroom sat at the far northern wing of the palace. I knew it was one of the places Ethan spent most of his time and it was also one of the few places in the palace that I had never been invited to before. It was almost as if the Prince had a talent for keeping parts of himself carefully out of reach. The doors were tall and bronze and covered in filigree.
