Chapter 4

Sutton’s Point of View

I slip on the dress and I look in the mirror. I don’t think I look half bad. I love the feeling of this fabric against my skin. I open the dressing room door, and I can just see the look in my mother’s eyes she loves it. This is the dress I am going to be wearing. There is no doubt about it. I can tell my mother has already made up her mind.

“Oh, Sutton you look absolutely gorgeous. I don’t think we need to try on anymore dresses.” She gushes while trying to fight back tears.

“You really do look amazing Sutton.” Emily adds.

“Thank you.” I say. “I think you’re right about this being the dress mom. I love the way the color makes my eyes pop and the fact that there is silver throughout. I love that there is a slit in the dress that goes all the way up to my upper thigh. I do love this fabric it feels amazing against my skin. “Now let’s talk shoes mom. I would really like to wear a nice pair of silver flats. You know I can’t walk when I wear heels and I’d really rather not fall on my face at my own birthday party.”

“Well Sutton, since you’re not going to fight me on the dress, let’s see what we can find before I say yes. Deal?” she says.

“Deal.” Now I just really hope we can find a pair of flats my mother will approve of. My mom gets a beautiful rose-colored dress that is floor length and very similar to mine just without the slit. She pays for our dresses and we head to the shoe store. Once we walk in, I spot the perfect pair of shoes.

“Mom what do you think of these?” I ask her holding up a pair of silver shoes that has a short heel on them, probably no more than an inch. The front of the shoe is a decorated in stars and moo and there’s a thin strap that wraps around the top of my ankle. I know I would be able to walk in these without my feet killing me.

“Those are super cute. Let’s see if we can find your size.” I’m so glad my mother approved of the shoes. She found a pair of black heels that shimmer when she walks. We paid for our shoes and we headed to Victoria Secret’s. I knew since we chose the purple dress, I would need a new strapless bra.

Once we were finished at Victoria Secret’s we headed to the jewelry store. My mom said that I would need a necklace, a pair of earing and a tennis bracelet to go with the dress. I’m fine with that as long as I do not have to wear yellow gold. I prefer white gold as we cannot wear silver.

We manage to find a necklace, a pair of earrings and a bracelet. They all have diamond and black diamonds. The set is absolutely stunning but, I’m ready to go home. I have not done this much shopping ever. I’m just grateful that I did not have to try on too many dresses.

 Once we get home, I take everything to my room and put everything away. Once that’s done I go find my dad. He’s sitting in his office with a drink in one hand and staring out the window. I know what that means. He got some news he did not like. I can’t help but wonder what is going on.

“Hey dad, we’re back.” I say softly hoping not to startle him too much.

“How’d it go?”

“Good. What are you thinking about? I know that look, it usually means there’s something important on your mind.”

“Oh, sweetie you don’t need to worry about it. I just got some information out of the rogue. That’s all.”

“Dad his so called “Alpha” wants me as his mate. I’m going to worry about it. I need to know what I’m up against. You can’t keep this from me. I’d rather not have to look over my shoulder all the time. What’s going on? Please tell me.” I say to him in my sweetest voice that I know he can’t say no to.

My dad lets out a long deep sigh before looking at me. “Alright sweetie but you’re not going to like what I’m about to say. Let me get everyone in here so I don’t have to repeat myself multiple times.”

“Dad, who’s everyone?” I ask him confused.

Next thing I know my mom, Thomas, Remi and two of the pack elders come walking into my dad’s office. Okay now I am really curious, because there are two people in this room who don’t know about me. Why are they here?

Once everyone has taken a seat my dad stands up and pours himself another drink. Now I’m really starting to wonder what that filthy rogue told him. My dad usually only drinks when he is extremely stressed. This really can’t be good. We’re all sitting in my dad’s office waiting for him to tell us what he found out from the rogue.

“Sutton, Bella I need to inform the elders of the pack of everything. Including the secrets surrounding you Sutton.” My father says almost sympathetically.

“What secrets are you talking about Alpha?” Elder Liam asks.

 “I have to know whatever information is about to be shared with you never leaves this room and by that, I mean it stays with the people in this room. Is that understood?” My father states.

“Yes Alpha!” Replies everyone.

“Sutton shifted at seven years old. She is a rare white wolf and I believe her wolf is a direct descendant of the Moon Goddess herself. When the rogue told me of a prophecy about the only daughter of an Alpha, I started to do some digging.” My father states. “I was in the library all afternoon while you were out shopping. I found the prophecy he was speaking of. I now understand why his so call “Alpha” wants Sutton as his mate.”

“What do you mean that I am part of some prophecy dad?” I asked very confused. I don’t want to be a part of a prophecy. This piece of information has my head spinning and my heart pounding. First, I find out some rogue wants to force me to be his mate. And now, now I find out I’m part of an ancient prophecy. No, I can’t deal with this. “Dad what did you find out? I need to know what I’m in for.”

“When searching through the books I came across a passage that read

‘My daughter will be born to an Alpha and a Luna. She will be their only child. When the time is right her powers will show themselves. She will be the one to end the war between packs and rogues.’” My father tells us. The room is so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

“Alpha you should’ve told us about Sutton when she first shifted. We could’ve helped to protect her. We need to contact the Alpha King and Queen and set up meeting with them. They need to know about Sutton. If there are rogues out there who are going to continue to try and kidnap her, we can ask them for extra security.” Elder Liam states.

“We cannot risk the king, the queen or even the future king’s safety. They need to know about this before they come here for her birthday.” The other elder, Elder Tyler says.

“I know this. I’ve already sent word that I would like to meet with the king, queen and future king before her party is to happen.” My father responds.

“Hold on everyone. What do you mean by powers?” I ask confused as f**k. I just found out that I am some sort of daughter to the Moon Goddess and not in the way I thought I was. And now I have some kind of powers that are going to just magically show appear.

“That’s the thing Sutton, I’m not exactly sure. I do not remember ever hearing about this prophecy and to be honest with you I don’t know who all knows about it. But for now, until we hear from the royals, we need to ramp up our security. And Sutton you are not to go anywhere without Remi or a pack warrior.” My father says using his alpha tone.

“Yes sir.” Is all I can manage to say. I’m so confused right now it’s not even funny.
