Mr. Ichiro and Mrs. Hitoka looked at me with surprise and confusion. They didn’t know about my background. They never bothered to ask and I never told them.
“You have children?” Mrs. Hitoka asked.
I nodded. “I have a son and a daughter. They are twins.”
“You never talk about them.” Mr. Ichiro said.
“They live with their dad in Italy. We are not on….good terms.” I said lowly.

“Are you okay?” she asked quietly.
