Chapter 21 Ana “How are you feeling, Ana?” my mother came inside my room and asked once the Erickson’s left. Lying was the only option I had left after what that old man did to me earlier.   “I am better, thank you,” I faked a cough.   My mother came down and sat beside me. Worry spiraled in her eyes as she touched my hand, “I didn’t know you were sick,” she paused for a second and then continued, “Do you want to go to a doctor?”   The only doctor I wanted to go to was Dr. Wilson.   “No, mom, I am fine, just the seasonal sickness. I will be okay,” I replied. The doctor could easily find out that I was lying.   “Okay,” my mother glanced at Cora, who was standing beside me. “Get her some soup and medicines,” she instructed.
