"Open the city gates and welcome our hero!" Josh commanded. He also ran down from the wall to greet the legendary figure who escaped the pursuit of an Orange ranked beast.

Charlie held his sword firmly in his right hand as he walked staggeringly towards the now open gates.

"You're welcome Sir! How should we address you, your Excellency?" Josh bowed to greet him.

Charlie thought for a while before coming up with a new nickname for himself, "call me… The Butcher."

Charlie was soon escorted to a guest house where he could take his bath and rest for a while before the next battle.

"System, upgrade The Heart of Heaven Sutra to orange rank." Charlie was currently soaking himself in the bathtub when he remembered about his unused reward.

[Ding! The Heart of Heaven Sutra has been upgraded to Orange rank.]

Immediately after the system prompt, charlie was covered in resplendent light and his cultivation level began to soar as his body automatically absorb the energy enclosed within the light.

After 5 minutes, his rising cultivation finally stopped at level three, Blue rank.

Charlie wanted to practice The Heart of Heaven Sutra using the Death Seeking Manual to test the upgraded version of the technique. But when he remembered the pains he'll go through, he discarded the idea.

The system voice rang in his head, announcing the new technique.

Charlie quickly learned the technique. Then he upgraded the technique and the earth escape manual to intermediate level.

While Charlie was about to test out his new skill, he heard a blaring sound of the war alarm, followed by a series of hurried footsteps at the corridor.

He went out to check what was happening, but still couldn't get the full gist.

"What the hell is happening, brother!" Charlie stopped Josh who was running towards the guest house.

"The enemies attacked! So you should go back to your logistics unit right away!" Josh said before rushing towards Charlie's room.

"And next Time, you don't approach your superior the way you did just now if you still need your head." Josh turned to warn charlie before he starts to knock on his room door.

Charlie wanted to reveal his identity, but Josh's cold gaze didn't give him the chance to. He then thought it through. If he revealed his real face to the world, he would lose his peace of mind as he would be targeted by both beasts and men.

"System, give me a mask, a tight fitting cloth with a cape attached to its back." Charlie found a hidden place to stay before issueing a mental command to the system.

"I want one with the lowest price" charlie added.

The system voice sounded in Charlie's mind.

Charlie quickly opened the system inventory, to see an ugly bracelet made out of clay, with the label [king of Earth Exoskeleton] attached to it.

"Retrieve" with no other choice, Charlie retrieved the clay bracelet from the system store.

The clay bracelet disappeared from the system store, and appeared on his right wrist.

[King of Earth Exoskeleton: an external skeleton that covers your whole body and allows you to bore through the earth with ease without dirtying yourself; the perfect uniform for all miners.]

"King of Earth activate!" Charlie shouted and the bracelet on his arm turned into countless specks of dusts. The dusts assembled on all parts of his body to form a strong clay bodysuit.

Charlie quickly brought out a mirror to check out his new look, and to his horror, he looked like a humanoid clay monster, with a thin, faceless clay mask covering his head.

A a crown of clay was attached to his head.

Despite the mask covering his face, Charlie breathes naturally as if the clay mask was nothing but air.

"Hahaha! Time to hunt some beasts!" Charlie laughed like an hungry villain. He then bore through the earth and disappeared.

At the northern Gates. The beast army led by the flame feathered chicken papa were stationed 100m away from the gates, waiting for something.

"I give you ten more minutes to look for that human who escaped here or you face my wrath!" Flame feathers strode out of the army and yelled out at the people on the city Wall.

5 minutes later, josh came rushing back to the city gates.

"I couldn't find the hero, but I've already contacted the generals, they'd be here within 5 minutes" josh announced to his friend.

So after, the commander assigned to the northern Gates arrived at the Post.

"Your time is almost up!!! Release that bastard to me and I'd leave right away." Flame feathers shouted.

"Do you think this place is your backyard where you can come and go as you wish?" The scar-faced general stood gallantly on the city walls, his cape fluttering in the wind as he asked.

"Then I'll destroy this place!" The chicken said as he flapped its wings, ready to charge.

Suddenly! A sweet savoury smell assailed their nostrils as both camps were about to commence battle.

Flame feathers paused for a second before streams of tears starts to run down from its red chicken eyes.
