Chapter 5

1013 Words
At the end of the day, Nicole followed me back home. It seemed he was familiar with my driver for some reason, and the both of them kept on talking throughout the journey. What a rip-off they were. When we got to the house, the driver stepped out to open the door for him, which was unusual since he never did it for me, not like I ever waited. "Nova, you're back home so soon," my mother said, adjusting her dress. From the looks of it, they just finished a particular business, and I don't give a damn about it. "Oh, Mrs. Nelly," I heard Nicole call my mother by name before giving her a tight hug. "I sure have missed your cute and adorable face.". "Me too". I was getting worked up all of a sudden. How did my mom get to know my number one enemy? And how did he even know her name? "Missed his cute, adorable face?" So pathetic. "Nicole, my son, how's school? I never thought you were going to come home after that little argument we've had." Nicholas embraced Nicole as he let out those words. "I see you've met your stepmother, Nova." Nicholas's words had me dumbfounded for a moment. If I catch a grasp of what he's saying, it means that Nicole, the hottest and most popular playboy, is my stepbrother. I sat down on the sofa, thinking about what Nicholas said. Everything seemed to play out well. Nicholas is the alpha, which means Nicole is the beta. And since Nicole is Nicholas's child from another mother, that meant we were stepbrothers. The question roaming around my head is, "Do stepbrothers kiss?". Nicole, on the other hand, wasn't bothered by it and decisively kept on talking with Nicholas and my mom while I continued reading my romance novel. The night came quite quickly, and I could finally ease up my thoughts and get some sleep, or so I thought. Nicole's room had suddenly become a place for roaches of different species and other animals, which led to the decision to have Nicole sleep on my bed. They felt we were siblings, and nothing could go wrong. "So do you like it now that we're siblings?". "Step siblings," I corrected. "Whatever". "Why can't you just leave me the hell alone?" "Because I don't want to let go of you." "Let me go. The only thing that gives me joy is peace, not someone interfering during my quiet hour." "I told you I was going to make you an ambient or an extrovert, and I meant it. "He came closer to me as I moved backward. He continued moving like that till I hit the wall and had nowhere else to run. "Until I am done with that, I can't leave you the hell alone.". I could feel his soothing and cool breath on my face as he looked me in the eyes. As much as I wanted another kiss, the thought of being stepbrothers stopped me from moving. "Good night," he said as he walked onto the bed, taking up half of the bed for himself. Such a selfish creature. I decided to avoid him the next day to ensure no one got hold of the news that we were siblings and also to reduce the horrible eyes and gazes the girls were using to look at me. They were all insecure after the first day, especially Stacy, his girlfriend, who kept on watching her from time to time, never leaving her sight. A month passed successfully, with all the girls in my class hurriedly chasing after Nicole. I don't care since I cut off all communications with him and avoided him partially. "What's up, Nova?" I heard his voice once more as he called out my name. "What do you want with me, Nicole?" I asked him as I opened my locker to take out my Strategies to Kill book. "I just came to ask for a little something." "Got to go now, bye," I shakily increased my pace into the physical fitness center (the field). He chased after me but later stopped when he saw Stacy, who was getting suspicious out of nowhere. The day's lesson was more about strength testing and vocabulary exercises. Nicole had taken a prepared stance to train me as the teacher instructed. Even though I was fighting with him, I would never miss an opportunity to get him in the face and cause him to bleed. "Start," I heard the teacher call out, followed by the sound of a whistle. I launched multiple attacks on him, trying to get him in the face, but he ended up being too good at dodging. No wonder they called him the strongest. He wasn't pulling up any attacks, as he let me do all the attacking while he just defended himself. "Now that I am done relaxing, let's get down to business," I heard him say, followed by an attack, which I managed to dodge. The difference in strength between the both of us was large, and if I didn't end him on time, I could get a few bruises since he wasn't allowed to hurt me too much. I was defending myself vehemently, and that's when I got an idea. "How about a kiss when we're done?" I blurted out, stopping him in his tracks. "Really? " he asked, not focused on the fight anymore. "Nope," I let out, sending out a surprise attack. I was about to get the hit on him, but he moved his face away from the attack. He took my hand and dragged me closer to him. "You have just three seconds to tell me what I did to deserve your silence, or you'll let me say it." "Beat it, Nicole. I am not telling you anything." I stretched my hands forth again, trying to get a double hit, but he moved away from the attack, locking me in his arms, gazed at me with fiery eyes, and growled, "Mate!". In front of the entire school.
