Skirmish Against The Blade Wolves

1721 Words
This was a bad idea, unfortunately, it was not my idea, if not it would never have been an idea in the first place. But now I have to deal with these f*****g things, and their sharp bodies. I looked around, hoping to find a sort of weapon that could give me any sort of leverage against these things, but there was nothing of the sort, the only advantage I had was that their path to me was obstructed by the huge and very dead body of their boss. "Hey! Hey over here! Come on!" was that wise, probably not, but at the very least I drew their attention away from the Panda. So now what? I looked around and noticed pieces of metal, the very same metal that was sticking out of their bodies as if they were some sort of porcupine. Seeing those metal blades on the ground made me regret not coming out with my kitchen knives, but at this point I had to make do with what I had. I rolled forwards and grabbed two of the dislodged blades, seeing how small they were, just about six inches long and three wide, I knew these ones came from the bodies of the smaller wolves. I threw the first blade at the first wolf that was approaching me from the side, and much to my surprise and the unfortunate luck of the wolf, the blade went straight into it's eyes and dug deep into it's skull, killing it instantly. And that's when I remembered I had a throw skill that had evolved into (MARKSMAN), there was no way I could miss as long as I properly and actively aimed for their vitals. I looked up just in time to see another wolf climb over the body of it's fallen leader and leap at my face. The second blade left my hand and went straight into it's open throat, cutting the wolf from the inside as it flew past me. I tried moving out of the way, but my entire body is not as fast as my hands as the wolf sliced my chest on it's way to the ground where it lay there whimpering, blood spilling from its clenched jaws. Dodging and attacking the second wolf had taken my attention from the rest, and at that moment two of them both sunk their teeth into legs, shaking their heads vigorously as they tore the skin there to shreds. The pain was there, but I was not affected as most would expect due to my pain resistance skill that helped me ignore the pain. But I was still a bit panicked about being attacked by two blade wolves, so I stupidly tried to stomp my feet to dislodged them from my legs. (EARTH TREMOR) The ground in a two meter radius shook as the wolves were blasted backwards, towards the almost two and the half meter blades sticking out of the body of the leader. I felt a bit dizzy due to the serious amount of blood I've lost in just the few seconds those wolves had their jaws around my calves. They didn't just nick an artery, they completely shredded it, and all the blood I currently had in my body was surely and slowly being bled away. (HEAL) Unlike when I was healing the elf woman, I only needed to use the skill once for my injuries to be completely healed. And just in time too as the remaining two wolves came after me. My first reaction was to panic, turn tail and run. However my body seemed to move on it's own, making moves that I never knew I had. The first wolf went for my head while the other went for my legs just like his death by impalement pack mates. I twisted my body to the right, moving with a flexibility I never thought myself capable of as the first wolf flew past my face, but I moved forwards, catching it by it's hind legs and turning around, using it's own speed and power against it as I threw him into his friend. It was not a pretty sight to be honest, because they crashed into each other and rolled back a few meters, completely entangle with each other as the blades sticking out of the body of one wolf, was now sticking right back into the body of the other and vice versa. Only three of the wolves were dead, the other three were badly injured and would bleed out eventually, though how long that would take I had no intention to wait and find out. After all I only had ten minutes to get rid of them, and somehow I managed to do it in a minute and half, maybe even less. I looked around and picked up another metal blade( seriously aren't all blades made of metal), and then I systematically went after each of them and shoved the blade right into their eyes. {Mission Accomplished: Defeat the six Demonic blade wolves and save the life of the young forest guardian} {Rewards: 5000 system points, The Celestial Wolf Beast Subduing Formation, 1 Array Alchemy Kit, Cultivation increase by one level, +10 to all stats.) Immediately I saw that message, I felt a surge of intense heat go through my body. I was filled with energy, vigor and strength. I felt as if I could lift the huge wolf over my head and throw it away like it weighed nothing more than a basket of fruits. But of course feeling like I could do something and actually being able to do it were two different things, so I rather not make any stupid moves. {You have slain six demonic blade wolves +18 Speed +12 Body} {Mission Accomplished: Investigate the source of the noise} {Rewards: +2 to all stats, +2 skill points} [Leon An Khel: Age 20] [System Points: 10,000] [Bloodline: Ancient Human/Xuanwu Divine Tortoise] [Cultivation level: 2: Body Refining Realm] [Cultivation Method: Celestial Zodiac Theorem: Level 1 ] [Strength: 47/ Speed: 65/ Body 59/ Energy: (47/47)/ Perception: 47] Talents: > > > > Skills: > > > > > > > > > > Stat points:6 | Skill Points:13 [Inventory 2 square meters] [Shop] I had gotten to the second level of the body refining realm, but there was something I didn't understand, and that was how much stats was required for me to get to the next level. Thankfully the system seemed all too eager to explain. {To get from mortal to the first level of the body refining realm, you needed to have an equal amount of stats points in all of your primary stats, and the dividing line was ten. But to get to the second level of the body realm, you need to have 35 stat points in your primary stats, which means you needed to add 25 extra points to the base ten you already had. But for every subsequent level the amount of stats needed would increase by 5 points, so this time you need to add 30 extra points to the base 35 to get to the next level of the body refining realm. However should the system award you a level in cultivation, you would get to the next level having all the required stats points distributed to all your stats, both the primary and secondary. But gifting you a level is quite rare, so you have to keep cultivating and killing monsters with the particular stats you need to get to the next level.} Well I guess that explained everything else, but for now I had to finish up with this panda. I walked over the dead bodies of the wolves and walked towards the panda, with my breath stuck in my lungs. I knew how big it was from afar, but right now standing in front of it, made me realized that it was a whole lot bigger than I though. It's head alone was the size of a car. (Thank you...I feel the aura of the celestial beast sect allover of you. You must be a disciple…..I leave him to you now...protect him...and he will…..protect you.) Have you ever seen a beast the size of a fuel truck die, that last breath it released was powerful enough to knock me on my ass, but even more so was this intense ache I felt in my chest when it died. The pain was nerve wracking and I couldn't stop the tears that fell from my eyes, it was as if it was my own father that just died, but even then this was weird, but I suspected it was because of my talent beast empathy. And it was through that talent, that I felt the pain of the young panda hiding under the huge paws of it's father. I went forward and raised the paw with a lot more ease than I expected, guess I was stronger now than before. The body of the baby panda was slick with blood and goo, if I didn't know better I would say that it was just born. But this panda was different from it's deceased father, though maybe it was because it's still a child that the bone blades on it's elbows and it's sabre tooth hadn't grown out, but this little guy or girl had nubs on it's forehead, almost as if it was going to grow horns sometimes later in the future. {You should prepare for a fight! The weaker monsters who have been steering clear of this area because the Panda was still alive are now heading here. They're coming for that baby, and there's a lot of them. You better get ready, both your lives depend on it.} {Mission: Survive the onslaught of monsters and get back to storage room. The baby panda must survive.} {Time: six hours, forty minutes and sixteen seconds} {Penalty: Death} {Rewards: all skills increased by 2 levels, monster fusion/possession skill, Forge Alchemy skill and Kit} "s**t!"
