He explores the differences he can observe between substance use disorders in others and the purely emotional need he experiences in his relationships.
I have no personal experience of or knowledge about substance use disorders. I relied heavily on Patrick Frame (MSW, LCSW) of St. Louis, Missouri to guide me in how these disorders might affect someone on an emotional level, and on how Nathan's emotional need resembled addiction to a substance.
