Of course he would then have to produce a parcel for her to collect, or else her boss would become suspicious upon her return to her desk empty handed.
No, there was no way around it; he would just have to wait until Chantal decided to tell him one way or the other. The toughest part, for Greg anyway, was not to allow himself to grow too excited, just in case it all came to nothing.
He also considered the possibility that if he were not allowed to work in the restaurant, would he still be in with a chance of collecting Chantal after her shift and still being allowed to take her home, as she had suggested.
