They walked over to the “The Burning Man”. Unlike the majority of modern pubs and bars the windows were opaque, so at best they could only make out shadows from within. Richard entered first, followed by the girls, with Jason bringing up the rear. As they stood in the doorway, it reminded Kelly of those old horror films, where a stranger walks into the inn and all the locals stop talking and turn to stare at them. As it was there were only a handful of locals present, which seemed a bit odd as it was Christmas Eve, and this was the only pub in the village. But Kelly figured that being in a pub wasn’t everybody’s idea of a fun way to celebrate the occasion. Inside the bar there was no obvious indication that it was the festive season.
