Instinctively, Cedric pulled back away from her. “What are you talking about?” He demanded. “I didn’t have an accident!”
“Yes, you did lovely,” Victoria assured him, comfortingly. “You thought that I was about to fall, so you leaped to my rescue, but you were seeing what happened last year not this afternoon, so you couldn’t save me and lost your own life in the process.”
Her explanation took a moment for Cedric to register.
